What did you do in your garage today..?

Yeah, I guess I should have said the tool grid in combination with the thick ass snap on instinct handles makes them too thick for the short drawers. Even those hard handle nut drivers only clear the drawer above by a hair.

What did you do in your garage today..?

I'm going through the toolbox again starting to reorganize and clean things up. I picked up a bunch of Tool Grid (which is made by a company in Burlington) and I was able to condense all my screwdrivers down into one drawer, and freed up a smaller drawer for my nut drivers that have been hidden...

    Sub-Compact Tractor

We've got a 2015 Massey Ferguson GC1705 up at the cottage that's been great. We've got just over 100hrs on it which is low for a tractor of that age but every hour of that has been running it hard; steep terrain, permanently in 4x4, lifting rocks and dirt way over its capacity, on two wheels, in...

    Signs or common sense?

lol when they switched the emails over from @SNC to @Atkins, they guy who I sit beside started reporting all the emails he received from the new email addresses as spam because he had no idea the name change was happening. Took about 2hrs for me to catch on and let him know what was going on

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Depends on what you consider affordable. Its going to be close to $2500 for it installed (and it was only like $200 to have it installed). I think its a Wayne Dalton door. The $400 Leadvision they sell everywhere is not something I'd waste my money on.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

The main reason for the roll up door was that the shed could store an ATV in the winter. He's already got the shed full of stuff so I don't see that happening, but its certainly easier to get the lawn mower and snow blower in and out. It was the same here on the height. Originally it was a...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Figured I'd contribute to the shed building thread. This is the new shed at my parent's house. He hired the concrete out and got a family friend to help him frame and sheet it. My dad and I did the metal roof, and I did all the wood siding and flashing. The big hole is for a roll up door thats...

    Pickup Trucks

Ive had two 4th gen Ram 1/2 tons. Never had any issues with them. Id buy another. My dad is on his 3rd GM/Chev as they keep breaking. The 2009 broke a cam shaft in half, the 2012 had the oil issue they all seem to have had, but the 2017 he has now has been good. Its gone through an exhaust in...

    COVID and the housing market

My cousin is a real estate agent. He was telling me their current selling practice is to list ~20% lower than what the seller wants, hope it gets some high blind offers, and if they don't get what they want after the first week, pull it off the market and relist at the actual price the seller...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

No but I inspected the holes after drilling and vacuuming them out and they were clean. The system is full of pressurized water plus it has a bit of head in the mechanical room, so if I burst through any line I would have seen a fair bit of water come out (~0.5L). I didn't even see any of the...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Yeah I've wanted one to balance out the zones better for the floor heating but never went to buy one. Luckily I had a photo from construction where they moved the toilet flange over about 6", so I was confident on the one side I was clear. Between the flange and the wall I was like 90% certain...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

So I went with a Toto Nexus. I wanted the Aquis IV but Plumbing & Parts in Whitby only had the Nexus in stock plus on sale. And I am an instant gratification kind of guy, so I wasn't waiting for the Aquis to be ordered. Its a super odd install process for the toilet. I had to drill 6 holes into...

    BOC Hits 5%

No one gives you any sympathy when you say your first mortgage was 12% because its harder to buy a house now (need a much much greater down payment, mortgage payment is larger, your income needs to be higher, and salaries haven't kept up with inflation). My dads talks about how he was excited...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

hahaha thats good to hear. I'll take a look at those I'm really liking the look of the one piece toilets with the full skirt. Looks like it would be a pain to install but it looks really nice. Also I hate that I'm at a stage in life that the possibility of buying a nice new toilet is exciting...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

$300 for a toilet seat is crazy. I went to buy a soft close seat for my toilet like 2 years ago, saw the cheapest one was like $80, and decided I didn't need a soft close toilet seat anymore.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I guess I should have phrased my comment different, they dont need to go on a Toto toilet, but I will be installing it on a Toto toilet. For the aesthetics IIRC Toto toilets are longer than most others. I think I remember looking at this a year ago and my current toilet, which I would consider...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

So I bought a Toto S550E bidet on Prime Day for a good price. I'm like 85% positive it will not fit on my current toilet, which is ok because I wanted a new toilet anyways. This thing basically needs to go on a Toto toilet. Anyone have a Toto toilet and have any good recommendations? They have...

    Fort McMurray Smoke

I'm 30km from the Centennial Lake fire right now. Its like an overcast day right now but I don't notice any smell of smoke like I did in the GTA and when I was out cutting the grass earlier I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Its trying to rain right now, spitting every now and then...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

My dad is building an 8x13 shed in the backyard. He spent all winter trying to convince me that building a base frame out of cedar 6x6's and filling the voids with gravel would be a good base and stop animals from living underneath it. My response was "you live in a $1mm + house and you want...

What did you do in your garage today..?

For free: Gas on a rag, lots of rubbing. For a price: Decal rubber eraser wheel A clay bar/mitt might help but its not really what its meant for. I doubt it would be able to get it all off. Acetone would work but I wouldn't touch the plastic with it.
