I never really never stop riding unless there is risk of ice or snow on the road. I have put over 4,500 km on my bike so far in October, 1653 km this week (starting Sunday) so far.
Proper gear makes a huge difference. In this calendar year I have ridden from +38°c/100°f down to -18°c/0°f.

There will always be a small minority of drivers that travel at speeds that are above what most others would drive and that really is regardless of the limit. It's been shown time and time again that when limits are set at realistic levels (or even removed!) the vast majority of drivers will...
It didn't used to be that way but has happened over the last several decades.
Right lanes should never disappear, only left lanes should end. (This should also be the same on passing lanes on two lane roads. Since right lanes end many people just stay in the left lanes and block passing or...
Saw that but hardly think of it as road rage, at least nothing compared to what I see on a daily basis. It's probably more a case of "road slightly miffed."

And that's the point! Highways are not storage areas for cars... it isn't about how many can sit in traffic (Don Valley Parking Lot Notwithstanding) but about how long trips take you, the rider/driver.

Whether the rider was safe or not is one thing, but I didn't see any "rage" there. Can you maybe take some time and explain where the rage is? As it is I felt totally ripped off wasting my time and want my money back.

That has proven to NOT be the case in the USA. when speed limits went up (initially from 55 mph to 65 mph and then later to higher speeds in many states) average speeds barely changed.
What did change was less of left lane bandits causing dangerous backups of traffic and drops in...
Haha Thanks!
I have had three V-Strom's since I started riding Strom's in 2006. I parked my 2006 DL650 in March of 2012 with 202,000 km. I replaced it with a 2012 DL650 that I sold in August of 2015 with 139,500+ km when I got my present V-Strom, a 2015 DL1000 that now has over 160,000 km. I...
No that one's not me. Same topcase but different mirrors, I don't use engine guards and never have side racks on.
Good to see there is another nutcase like me out there. (Btw my 2015 V-Strom 1000 has over 160,000 km on it.

I try and avoid the worst of the road-spray days.
When I get caught in them the bike gets coated but the worst part is keeping the faceshield clean. I carry a dry and wet microfiber cloth in my tank bag but if it is going to be really messy I will probably drive.

I kept meaning to wash it. :)
Here is how it looked before washing:
Yeah they don't seem to rust that quickly. I'm beginning to think some of the stuff people use to clean the bike causes corrosion.

My wife got a new bike and now it's time to let her Gladius go.
She bought it used from our local Suzuki Dealer in spring of 2012 and it now has 75,000 km on it. She pretty much learned street riding on this bike and put about 60,000 km on it.. pretty much all of it recreational riding with...
My wife and I were out for a ride today and sadly saw what we were later told was a new Harley down on hwy 7A just north of the north part of 57. It looked pretty bad at the time but we were later told mainly scrapes and bruises with the possibility of some broken bones.
We were talking with an...
