The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

With unauthorized plates on the car it is not legally roadworthy and likely not insured at the time as it's being driven by a suspended driver. Therefore, an immediate impound is justified. If other members of the family required the car they should have stepped up and kept this loser from...

Which is why the car should be impounded on the spot! If it's left with him at the side of the road there's nothing to stop him from just driving away without plates after the police have left him for another call.

It boggles my mind HOW he had the vehicle back to put unauthorized (fake) plates on the car the very next day! I would have thought that driving under suspension with unauthorized plates the first time would have also earned an impound on the vehicle on day one.

Motorcycle Supershow - International Center - Jan 6-8

The only reason I go to these type of shows is to buy gear or accessories. I also attend the Toronto Ski Show held at the same building every fall looking for equipment and clothing items. I'm old school and don't like to buy anything that is size specific without first trying it on, or at least...

Motorcycle Supershow - International Center - Jan 6-8

I'll take a pass this year. I disagree that $25 is a cheap night out. I've plenty of other things I can use $25 on rather than walking around a crowded hall for a couple of hours trying to find a deal on riding gear. Not in the market for a bike, so no other reason to attend. Now if I won...

    Used Parts, Motorcycle scrap yards

The Bike Yard in Mono Centre, Airport Road just south of Highway 9. Used parts, no yard to wander. The Bike Yard

Motorcycle Helmets bought from online platforms had counterfeit safety certifications

I watched that bit on tv the other night. I didn't recognize any of the brands that were tested. It seemed to me that the entire piece was aimed new riders who are looking at low cost helmets from third party sellers online. And who would ever think that "Predator" helmet would be legal...

NEW BSA Scrambler 650 & Goldstar

I'd also like to see a Lighting version.

Always check your wheel nuts within a few days after the wheels have been removed for any service. I do my own tire swaps and use a torque wrench when installing, then double check them within a few days. I once found loose wheel nuts after a shop did a brake job, so it's now routine for me to...

Sure beats a "good" day at work

Well the box on the white bike looks like it came from Home Depot, so that's close!

Doing 90 on Highway 10 in rush hour is dangerous because you would be impeding the natural flow of traffic. I remember early morning commutes down that road over 10 years ago where the average speed was probably 110kph. Luckily I no longer need to commute, but the times I use it on the weekends...

    River Road - Nov 5th 2022

I also did this loop on a Friday (October 21). Nice ride, very little traffic and no enforcement to be seen. Pretty River Parkway was deserted, even though the colours were still pretty good at the time. River Road was a nice road, before the 50 kph limits and Community Safety Zones, but it is...

    River Road - Nov 5th 2022

I rode it on October 21st; I think they might have just laid the asphalt that week! Beautiful smooth surface and the section between Kilgorie and Prince of Wales now offers better and safer traction around the tight turns in that area. Just watch out for the gravel kicked up by motorists who...

I'd like to know how they were able to get that load through the town of Belfountain without taking out one of the buildings near the roadway. They had to go through there before they got to the hairpin.

    Motorcycle Experience TV show

I watch and enjoy this show. I like the brief bike reviews because I like to see what's new, even though I'm not purchasing. The travel segments are interesting because they go places I'll never get to, or have never thought to go. It's in its 33rd year, so apparently I'm not the only one...

    Get forked

Most days I have no clue what the actual day of the week it is. Retirement is six Saturdays and a Sunday. But before a ride I need to remember the day so I can avoid the people trying to escape their over-crowded cities and clog up our open roads. And Tuesdays, I play golf on Tuesdays.:)

    Get forked

I don't ride on weekends, and definitely NOT on a Holiday weekend! Retirement is great because there's far less traffic on weekday rides.

Add to that, Gore Road in this area is posted at 70 kph with most travelling 80 kph or so in the rush periods. What makes matters worse is the sightlines from Patterson Road are restricted due to a crest in the road just south of the intersection, which severely reduces your view of approaching...

    Wasaga Beach and Collingwood area?

This post reminded me that I have to get up to Beaver Valley Road before the season is over. It's been a few years since I rode it last. A late September ride should get some nice colour on the trees along both sides of the valley.

There are places and times where you may be able to get away with that sort of behaviour, but Hockley on a weekend, particularly a long weekend, is NOT one of them.
