Most days I have no clue what the actual day of the week it is. Retirement is six Saturdays and a Sunday. But before a ride I need to remember the day so I can avoid the people trying to escape their over-crowded cities and clog up our open roads. And Tuesdays, I play golf on Tuesdays.:)

I don't ride on weekends, and definitely NOT on a Holiday weekend! Retirement is great because there's far less traffic on weekday rides.

This post reminded me that I have to get up to Beaver Valley Road before the season is over. It's been a few years since I rode it last. A late September ride should get some nice colour on the trees along both sides of the valley.

There are places and times where you may be able to get away with that sort of behaviour, but Hockley on a weekend, particularly a long weekend, is NOT one of them.
