    Normal car recommendation….

On "perception"? Or, care to share stats? (asking for a friend)

    Normal car recommendation….

Wife drives a 2018 Civic (and I do, when she tosses me the keys). The CVT may be well executed, but it still is a CVT and I'd never buy another CVT equipped car. Must admit that it has a peppy motor, decent suspension and good gas mileage. The body work ancillaries, not so great - the wheel...

    Normal car recommendation….

Volvos, great design - just be prepared ro shell out $400 per service. I almost bought an XC-40 until I was told that a standard service will cost $400 as the Tech has to check and update all the different software modules that the vehicle has. I want a car and not a Windows computer.

    Normal car recommendation….

I don't have a Dodge on my driveway, never have (as yet). All Dodge products cannot be tar'd with the same brush. "Dart" does not spell "Hornet". The moto-journos rave over the Hornet and since it's release there have been no publicized reports of things like tranny falling to the ground...

    Shock Tube from Motorcycle Innovations

With the proviso mentioned by Priller (post above), I think that it is worth it! It has been on my bike (a "standard") more as a protection for the Ohlins rear shock against the grit from some of the back roads that is flung up by the rotation of the rear wheel. It comes off in minutes when I...

The "Are you thinking of a new bike for 2024?" discussion thread.

Are you firm on a model from the Japanese mfrs? They are well built, reliable and priced relatively well. But ..... Have you given a thought to BeeEm's K1600 or R1250? Perhaps, the Indian Challenger, Roadmaster or Pursuit? Or even the Guzzi V100 or V85? Good luck in your choice!

    New Year's moto resolutions

Rubber on the road, more kms than the measly 3K done in 2023. My preferred ride is a one day back road jaunt and home before night. (I know it is kinda tame!)

    Annual Christmas Whatcha Get Thread

That is so true! It is a pain to get the first start, but after that it fires up. I found that using the snake-oil (my terminology for those gas additives) doesn't help. Drain the tank and float bowl , clean and gap the plug in spring and put in fresh gas the following winter and that makes it...

    What are you reading?

Glad to see that there is another interest in Military history here, thank you for your valid comment! That was the "escape" clause used by the organizers of that ill-fated raid. Military strategists have said that such a rehearsal will have groomed the opposing force on what to expect and to...

    What are you reading?

Just finished reading a fact-novel on the situation in 1939 Palestine, not much has changed in 2023. The actors may have changed, the scenario is the same. Ditto with the novel "Kursk", the war time strategy then in Ukraine is much the same as it is today, right down to the wrestling over the...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Hah, just like another auto maker - they never have "recalls", they only have "upgrades". Semantics!

Jan motorcycle show, plan on going?

https://motorcyclesupershow.ca/ $27.91 for a ticket - is it worth it? The big players have not put on an attendance for the last couple of years, ticket prices are up and has it become a flea market of sorts? (The last show I had been to was pre-pandemic)

    GTAM App?

Any idea what the GTAM app is named as on Google Play Store? A search for "GTAM" does not bring up the relevant app. Thanks!

Girder forks with a new twist!

Read about this unusual fork design that may even make it into production. The engineering is fine, but the looks? https://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/new-tech/cfmoto-girder-fork/
