FYI - myself and my colleague Aftab will act as lead and chase for Powersports TO's Suzuki Demo Day next Thursday July 21. Come ride some fast bikes (responsibly!) with us! 🤙 [Below is a re-post from the Dealer/Vendor forum, hope that's okay.]
Powersports TO is thrilled to be hosting a Suzuki...
Having worked in the moto parts industry for a few months now, I see it happen all the time. Could be a dropship order that relied on erroneous inventory data. It's a bit chaotic out there right now.
My bad, I skimmed the OP and missed that part.
I would DQ the SV650 on the basis of its riding position, but for short commutes it would be fine.
First-gen CB500x with some go-less-slow bits would be my top vote.
Got caught in the storm while in Caledon, in a botched attempt to hit the Forks and come back before the nasty weather hit. Had no idea it was going to be this bad, and I missed the emergency alerts while riding up from TO. Oops.
It was a mostly uneventful ride home all things considered...

Your bike is more of a swiss army knife than an ADV. I would eliminate naked because the geometry is going to be too similar.
Cruisers with forward controls are going to feel weird coming from a Strom, IMO and all that.
Supersport/superbike make no sense on the street. Fight me.
My combo of...
Happy to report that I will be making the jump to the moto industry next month. 😎 Not as a mechanic or apprentice - I'll be doing something very much aligned with my experience and skillset. More room to grow too, I think.
And it all happened thanks to this thread. 🙏
Can't wait to get started...
I just looked it up, Mimico GO to Whitby is 75 mins best-case scenario, $11 each way, so ~$440 a month for the privilege of riding the train up to 3 hours a day.
Haven't crunched the numbers but driving costs and travel time would likely be even worse.
Makes no sense either way, not for an...
