    Bicycle Protests

5km/h is a typical walking speed 10km/h is jogging speed 15km/h is a slow ride on a heavy cruiser style bike 20km/h is a very easy speed to maintain on a good surface like High Park's 25km/h is easy to achieve for all but the most unfit of cyclists Beyond 25-30km/h, air resistance starts to...

Haha. I know a few young & competitive guys with Cervélos. I've never tried one but I'm sure they make a fine bike. But yeah, they have become a lifestyle brand for older wealthy guys, and I'm not sure the company itself had anything to do with that? I guess the pricing is a bit premium but...

Grey hair and pot bellies go really well with the latest Cervélos. :D👌

Yes, that is the crux of the matter (stop n go training is no good.) As far as I know, there is very little racing happening in Toronto - the closest regular series would be the Midweek crit in Mississauga. That's irrelevant though - people live in Toronto and they are going to train on the...

I'm thinking that a pay-per-use or subscription-based training loop (in the city itself) would probably be a success, yes.

This Doucet guy is an idiot. Of course people should stop at stop signs (except for a 2-hour window on early weekday mornings so that us reviled lycra-wearing hooligans can get some sort of workout in - that is all I'm campaigning for. Outside of 6-8am M-F, ticket the **** out of everyone that...

I meant inside the park, on the main loop. Cars are regularly going 20-30 over, which was again the case this evening as I was biking home. Happy to report that I maimed and/or killed 3 pedestrians as I hit 50km/h in the downhill section of the loop. 👍 Productive day on the bike.

    Bicycle Protests

Ridiculous. Cars are routinely going 40-50 around HP. I have trouble overtaking some of them on my pedestrian-killing-machine 20lb road bike. 😝

Montreal does the same thing with its F1 circuit. Last time I went was a long time ago and it was free, I assume it still is. It's awesome.

I'm one of those lycra cyclists who "took over" High Park last Sunday - this is my own footage above. I will preface this by saying that they shouldn't have called it a "takeover" since the idea was to propose a sharing solution. The name is needlessly combative. And why the event was scheduled...
