    Long Term Care

My dad is in Malton Village LTC in Mississauga. It's a bit far from Milton. I'm sure the home has someone, but don't know if they are good or not.

Is there a male loneliness epidemic?

My advice to guys who want to be more confident in approaching girls is learning to dance (like Latin, or Line, etc...). You can go to a local community centre and go by yourself. People taking the class are at the same/similar level. I've found that there is WAY more girls than guys wanting to...

    What's real anymore?

Hey Guys, need some feedback. Now that my dad is in a LTC home, my mom is by herself. I received a call from my mom today, saying that Amazon called and that she owes $28k. She is hysterical, but I calmed her down and told her it's a scam. Does anyone know what to do to protect our parents...

The "Official" Watch Thread and all Things Horological

Yesterday, I went with my 10yr old son, and bought him his first watch (he ended up with an Adidas watch, because he wanted it to be sporty like him). The salesperson behind the counter, was really helpful. As a father, it became emotional for me because I remember when my dad bought me, my...

    Long Term Care

Hey All, Just an update on the LTC home situation for my dad. We managed to get him into Malton Village LTC home. Its further away from my mom, but really convenient for me to visit often. I have to say, the LTC home seems to be well run. It's bright, doesn't smell, clean, staff seem happy...

    Feds plan to melt ICE

My take on EV in Canadian Market for 2035 (not in short term): - Other Provincial Govt will cut incentive as more EV competition enters the market. - Govt will NOT ban ICE vehicles (or they will lose power). However, they will be incentivize people to "Buy New" (i.e.- EVs) by taxing older...

    Neighbourhood changes?

All this "Living on a RV" talk, brought back memories of a talk I had with a guy 10+ years ago. He was divorced and living in a RV which he parked at the back of an industrial building parking lot. I asked him why, and he responded with,"I have to pay $1,200/kid in child support". He had two...

    Long Term Care

Hey All, by any chance has anyone got a recommendation of a LTC home is the Scarborough area? Many of the reviews online seem not very positive, but it doesn't necessarily reflect the true overall picture of the facility. Any recommendations would be appreciated, as I'm filling out the...

    Long Term Care

Oh wow! Timely conversation for me. My dad is in his mid 80's and has Parkinson's. My mom is taking care of him, but it's now becoming too much for her. It's heart breaking to see my dad deteriorating (he was able to do 1 arm push ups until he was 79) Yesterday, my parents were able to have...

Sorry but this **** has to stop!

We used to live on Cronin Dr (427 and Burnhamthorpe area) and the traffic noise at night was terrible. I remember about 10 years ago hearing a couple of sport bikes tearing down the 427 in the middle of the night. Woke us up, and I told my wife, "those motorcycle have the throttle pinned". went...

Not sure if it's true, but I heard that the workers who move vehicles from the vessel to the lot make $137k a year, at Annacis Port.
