My wife works for two private hospitals in two different cities. She's worked a lot of short-handed shifts, I'd estimate 1-in-5 was the usual, but over the last couple months it has become the norm. If she's lucky, she WON'T be short-staffed once a week. Our system is getting worse, not better.

I've only ever used the choke until the bike can idle without it. Is that not how it's meant to be used? (not sarcasm) I've never been formally taught anything motorcycle related. I'm self-taught, and have no friends who ride.

It looks fantastic! Great job. 100% is only realistic with pros that have many hours of experience. 95% is better than I would expect from the average handyman.

This was done last summer. New plugs, oil change and carbs cleaned. Did I miss anything?

I assume the warning about heat is for the liquid form being flammable before application. Once applied it's clearly okay.

I bought the 03 in 2008, and it had the Hindle on it when I bought it.

Personally, I like the sound better than the Hindle, but it doesn't seem to be any louder. I've never liked loud.

I think we can rule that out since one bike runs great in the winter and the other doesn't. If that was the case, neither would run great.

My 03 has Hindle exhaust. The 01 had a chrome exhaust of an unknown aftermarket make. The decal peeled off.

No, I started to swap the exhaust, but it wasn't plug and play. I would have to have trimmed the pipe and decided not to. You think the exhaust could cause this issue?

Great information, thanks! My mixture screws are sealed, so they'll be factory set for non-ethenal fuel, as you say. I never thought of that, and should fix that. I don't think that's the reason for my current issue though because the carbs, as they are, were on the bike that run great all last...

I'll look into this. Thanks. What I did though, in the spring after I discovered it, was clean it good then coated all the problem areas and bolt/screw heads with belt dressing. Belt dressing works great for battery posts to prevent corrosion. I was given this tip by an old-timer "Battery...
