NEW RIDERS - Buying Motorcycle in the off season? TIPS

We get very few requests for this type of coverage tbh so I had to double check. I have confirmed that it does cover the track bike, trailer, etc for fire & theft off track as well.

NEW RIDERS - Buying Motorcycle in the off season? TIPS

Nope, the bike doesnt need to be tarped or anything to be covered. If its listed on the policy its on the policy. Realistically (and thats why the rates are low) its super rare for a bike to get stolen from a track day. I do 6-8 track days a year as well and we all know its more of a community...

NEW RIDERS - Buying Motorcycle in the off season? TIPS

True. I should clarify what I meant.... yes covers bike if STOLEN. Does not cover damage due to a crash

NEW RIDERS - Buying Motorcycle in the off season? TIPS

Off track storage is a totally different thing as its mostly for your STUFF (trailer, wheels, lifts, gear, tools, etc) at the track. Super cheap, like $180/year or something but that does not cover the actual motorcycle.

NEW RIDERS - Buying Motorcycle in the off season? TIPS

The answer is kind of technical. After you set up proper insurance you can REMOVE the liability portion of motorcycle insurance but thats a form you have to sign off on and even then the few companies that can do that is for when you have two or more bikes, one of which still maintains the...

NEW RIDERS - Buying Motorcycle in the off season? TIPS

Kinda but not quite. Motorcycles like cars cannot be insured just for fire & theft the way you do furniture or stuff in your house. As even in the winter it can theoretically be started up with a key and ridden you need Liability insurance, the fire, theft, etc sits "on top" of the liability...

NEW RIDERS - Buying Motorcycle in the off season? TIPS

Motorcycles are shiny and tempting, and yes there are deals in the off season. The issue is many people go and buy a motorcycle BEFORE they get their motorcycle license, without Rider Training and paint themselves into a corner. Worse if you plan to finance the motorcycle. Things are easy and...

How much do you pay for insurance?

because the M2L will only limit you to THAT scooter. You cant even move up to a 125cc scooter later on. Without a course you would have to show up to the M2L test with your own insured scooter /bike and you would have to insure it as an M1 which has crazy high rates. The course provides the...

How much do you pay for insurance?

Smaller is cheaper bigger is more. A Honda Grom /Ruckus , etc is at the lowest end of the engine size /CC scale so it would be the lowest rates a new rider can get. I can show you EXACT RATES, just email me at: moto@nfp.com Definitely try to do the Rider Training Course THIS year though so you...

    VFR800 Ins Issues? Sport Bike?

Not here. NO SURCHARGE on Honda VFR800s.... the rates are the same as a Honda Shadow VT750. That being said, some insurance companies did restrict the VFR1200 a few years back for no reason (makes no sense), but not all companies. NFP Moto is an insurance BROKER so we can compare rates for you...

    VFR800 Ins Issues? Sport Bike?

the VFR is a sport bike.... but its not a RESTRICTED / BLACKLISTED sport bike like Gixxer or Ninja ZX6R. That rate has more to do with you being 29 yrs old. You will see another rate drop at age 30.

    Collision insurance worth it?

Property damage covers the claim /payout for damage that you might do to SOMEONE ELSE'S property (their car, fence, dog, etc). Claim is paid out right away and then it gets sorted out behind the scenes between the insurance companies. Direct Compensation is the WAY the claim is handled in...

    Collision insurance worth it?

It really is a simple as that. If the damage came from a TOW TRUCK, meaning operated by an actual person, with a drivers license, and NOT the riders fault that is a NOT-AT-FAULT claim that wont affect your insurance. The claim gets paid out to you but then behind the scenes the insurance company...

    Collision insurance worth it?

Collision/Upset covers damage to the bike that is either your own fault or that you couldn’t blame on another person (a single vehicle accident for example). Without Collision coverage you know ahead of time that you dump or ding up your own bike you’re taking care of it outside of insurance or...
