    Rising prices/labour

I imagine firing a customer has it's own kind of satisfaction. Many years ago I was helping out someone I knew who had a small contracting/renovation business. 99.9% of his business came from referrals. He was VERY good and had a waiting list of clients/projects as long as your arm. I was...

    Iron Butt routes

Yeah... It certainly was bloated.. No chance of salvaging him for steaks... 'Couple of years ago I was riding back form BC with a buddy... Leaving Quetico Prov. Park at about 08:00 we rode over a slight rise in the road... Standing in the middle of the highway were THREE adult moose... We had...

    Iron Butt routes

Never underestimate the possibility of a wildlife collision... I've travelled the Trans Canada many times. North of Sault Ste. Marie I get off the road before dusk. Last july I came within 30 ' of hitting a full grown moose at 100kmh. 'Talk about a butt-puckering moment. I even braced for impact...

    Iron Butt routes

Although not "official" IB runs... I can think of two I've done that might have been close. Penticton to Moose Jaw 1300km 12hrs... Including a roadside chat with a Lethbridge RCMP officer... 'Something about going 157 in a 90 zone. The other one... Thunder Bay to Burlington... It's about...

    Rising prices/labour

There's also the old idea that you're not really paying for their time. You're paying for their knowledge and skill... On top of all those pesky things like rent, insurance and all the other overhead expenses.

    Rabaconda tire changer

As an aside... I get a kick out of all the youtubers who put up videos on "how to change your motorcycle tire" and they demonstrate their unworldly skill using a skinny dirt bike tire. try that over your knees on a 180/55 ZR17 with your silly little spoons.

    Rabaconda tire changer

With the No-Mar it's all about technique... If you find yourself having to use brute force you're probably doing something incorrectly. 'Took me a few changes to figure out how to get my stiffies on, but now.... 'Goes pretty easy.

    Bluetooth, where to start!

They have a version 2 out now, but my first gen Chubby works just fine. The buttons are indeed chubby so they're easy to use while wearing gloves.

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

In my org we call it "F### up to move up". Very few of our so called "leadership" are respected at all. Many have been promoted through nepotistic practices, favors, settlements or other shady means.

storing motorcycle in unheated garage (attached to house)

Although it might feel like it, winter storage isn't really all that long. Twenty to twenty four weeks... All I do is give her a bath, fill the tank, use stabilizer, park her in the garage. I don't usually cover her, cuz then how would I get to look at her every time I go out to shovel the...

    Bluetooth, where to start!

Well... Turns out it must be the YuYue BT controller that's the problem. I found my old Chubby Buttons controller, replaced the battery and presto... Paired, connected and stayed connected for my 3hr ride around the back roads today... So... As I heard a million time during my 1980's...

    Rabaconda tire changer

Meh, 'can always justify a new tool. Lol For me, it's all about the convenience of being able to easily change my tires. I hate having to pull wheels, take them to a shop, hope they can do it while I wait (which never happened), leave my wheels for days some times, drive back to pick them up...

    Proper etiquette "paying it forward"

Had a minivan carrying a family scootch in front of me at the Tim's drive through one day. I was on my way to work and sorta in a rush... I'm sitting there behind this guy cursing him while he orders what seems like a weeks worth of groceries... when I get up to the speaker and order my ONE...
