Royal Enfield 650 not so affordable?

I would have thought they would have been cheaper too. You can get some Jap bikes like the CB500X for less than that OTD, with change to spare. Not sure how much value they will hold when selling used either

BIG AND TALL - NEW RIDER

Ah good to know, I always thought they were short bikes from pictures and seeing them at shows. Unless the OP has a good budget, that's a hell of a first bike to start on in terms of price. Not sure what the seat height is on the R1200GS. I think Ryan at F9 is over 6'3" tall and loves the...

BIG AND TALL - NEW RIDER

Isn't the 1250GS low at 850mm? 1290 Adventure is 880mm T7 is 875mm, and getting the rally seat becomes 915mm. That's the tallest bike I know yet

How did you learn to wheelie?

On a trials bike? I tried really hard to pop the wheel on the CRF230L's the have, not sure if it was the gearing, my weight, or what, just couldn't. It came up on logs on such, just not clutch up

How did you learn to wheelie?

Practiced power wheelies on the CBX, very slow progression, never got more than 2in off the ground. Then, learn't to clutch up on the T7. Forget the power one's, almost no control. Best method for a beginner. Start slow, go somewhere safe away from people/cars. Start with just getting a feel...

    2021 Day Trips!

Yup, great article on both posted in an ADV Rider article https://advrider.com/do-you-like-it-soft-or-hard/ Let me know if you'd like to try the SW-Motech bag I had mentioned for some rides, if not, there was another member on here who said they would like it :) - I also have a Nelson Rigg Tail...

Best sport touring bikes for long distance

Most bikes have aftermarket options, from Corbin to seat concepts, so doubt this is an issue

Riding during stay at home order.

Exhaust makes a huge diff on the bike, at-least for me, it made me want to ride it a lot more. The Scorpion pipe just brought out all the grunt, without being load, was also significantly lighter and smaller.

    Next bike

Whoever designed this classic, probably did the 901, see lots of transitions I know looks are subjective, imo, the 990 was one of the best looking ADV bikes made to look dakar-ish whoever designed the 790/890 should be fired and never allowed to design motorcycles ever again

I think a member on here has this bike. I've seen it and sat on one in person, really beautiful bike, and decently affordable for a Euro machine, also simple to work on I hear That taillight and rear end needs to win an award... It seems to have the Euro flare, somewhat naked approach, yet...

Best sport touring bikes for long distance

That 1290 Super Adventure looks great, more comfortable than the Duke I would imagine. Also before they changed to the ugly alien looking headlight. Not sure if you have seen a 1290 in person, they are massive bikes, also tall. Worth going to GP this weekend to have a sit and see. Rarely see...

    GPS Recommendation

No need to use data with a phone. Download offline, like OsmAnd Maps, or even Google. Get region specific. Cellphone's GPS is separate from Data. OsmAnd and few others go into lots of detail, from off road trails, routes, etc I can't afford one, I wish :(

    GPS Recommendation

These are the ultimate ones, depending on budget, can place handlebar controls too. https://carpe-iter.com/ Otherwise, there are so many dedicated GPS apps now, even like Scenic which let you choose curves, I'd rather get a used Android/iPhone Plus and mount that with a Quadlock Wireless...
