Here's one reason why people hate motorcyclists

You could always say "in x country they do this so it's fine" There's always something seen as stupid by some and genius by others in some other part of the world

    Did you exercise today?

So the spartan is in May, first tri race would potentially be in june (with latest one being in september) if i want to race tri. I'll be swimming about twice a week the whole time i do that program, ill add hill running starting in march and then in april i start consistently bike commuting to...

    Did you exercise today?

Great, now the wife wants to do spartan sprint (5k, 20 obstacles) next year with the sole goal to beat my (untrained) time. It will be her first time. So i have to up the ante for myself and beat my time on the next distance up, the spartan super (10k, 25 obstacles). So i want to get on a...

Has the city lost it's mind...

I give you, value. That money could go towards the 3 struggling transit projects under provincial authority to get people moving. But instead I guess we have money to send $200 cheques to people, cancel contracts a year early to get beers in corner stores, and destroy recently built lanes in...

    Did you exercise today?

Yeah i had some trail runners, super crazy light, so i could get the feet going at a way higher cadence. When it was too steep it was a side shuffle that id switch every 10-15 steps. With some training i guess i could really become good at this.

    Did you exercise today?

hahaah yeah this was 5k (more like 6k due to penality loops) with about 300+m of elevation. The downhills were as brutal as the uphills i'd say, most people were walking them. Now that my wife wants to beat my time, ill have to actually train.

So i guess it's about subsidizing the behaviour you want to encourage the most (to make it the most appealing)

    Did you exercise today?

Did a spartan race, just a sprint distance (5k) and the kids did their respective 1k (i ran with him) and 3k. I am SO SORE. The body wasnt ready for this incline. And re-confirmed that i prefer skiing down blue mountain rather than hiking up and running down it.

Has the city lost it's mind...

If you want come with me on a ride into downtown using the waterfront trail. One third of it is on side streets and adds 5km to the commute, that's about 20 more minutes give or take. It's generally safer although several segments of it are on residential streets without any separation (not even...

Has the city lost it's mind...

I mean, it should be prioritized as it would probably have greater impact to have the LRT in place by moving more people and "unhindering" the drivers around the project. It's their jurisdiction, the puck has been dropped majorly. The desync of traffic lights i have to say is ridiculous LOL i...

Has the city lost it's mind...

Most normal people are under LTS1 and LTS2, teens biking to school, bikeshare users, casual commuters. when you venture into LTS3 you lose a lotta people, and LTS4 are only the entusiasts and more hmmm...hardened people who ride bikes. A big issue is that in the bike network you'll switch from...

Has the city lost it's mind...

The problem with the current system is that it's piece meal. The infrastructure is piece meal, the data is piece meal... there's no big picture. By building more they're trying to complete the missing puzzle pieces. Up to last year my kid was going to a school 2km from our place. There are...

Has the city lost it's mind...

meh, even if you remove all 500km of bike lane "infrastructure" (most of it being paint along pre-existing roads) you still will have the $hit traffic there are 5000+km of roadway in toronto, give 10% back and all you'll get is that "lifestyle creep" where you get just enough to end up using it...

4c when i got out the door this morning in the dark, still 4c when i got to the office... thank god for heated grips. the advantage of doing winter sports: (and also being a crazy man that trains/runs outside every 2nd winter) i've got a bunch of gear to keep me warm under my moto gear enough...

    MacDoc's new ride 2018 MT03 ends with 2017 GS310 loaded mebbe?

Didnt real the whole thread but for naked bikes... If its a windy day, as soon as you reach 100km/h you feel it. I installed a Dart flyscreen on mine... sometimes i regret getting the piranha version (shorter) but it does look better on the bike. If i tuck in i can get a break, you also feel...
