Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

Never claimed it. Single vehicle accident, so no police, no report. That thing is scrap. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk

What did you do in your garage today..?

Also checked and shimmed the valves last week. Buttoned it up on Saturday night. Cold shed... but its got to be done. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk

What did you do in your garage today..?

They look like they're in a nylon or plastic cage. Might still work alright. I did similar to @Wingboy Pulled the swingarm off my recently acquired street triple. Pretty grimey in there. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk

The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

Steal for him... Hypothetical: That $700 bike, I'd have a hard time justifying its worth if the owner said "come pick it up for free"... Drive there, pick it up, store it, the time to diagnose its issues... all for a mediocre bike. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk

The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

Yeah, they're wicked ugly. For some, practicality trumps power and beauty... on a bike, I don't understand it. Same as the Honda nc700 and 750. Half a honda fit engine. Boring as white [emoji506] Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk

    Thoughts about Yamaha TW200.

Seems there isn't alot of used tw200 on the market. I'd argue that an older xt225 would be a better choice. Full size wheels, so you'd have a wide selection of dual sport tires. Seat height is low. Pretty sure the older xt225 are a bit lighter than the xt250 that replaced it. I'd lowball to...

    Thoughts about Yamaha TW200.

I put 16,000km on an '03 tw200. It was an ex motorcyclecourse bike. Stock exhaust pipes can rot out at the lower part of the can. Check potential purchases. Stone axe reliable. Pretty sure bridgestone is the only tire manufacturer that makes tires for a tw. My brother had one as a first...

    Holiday destinations

You're taking the kids? We were at the Occidental Xcaret two years ago. We scheduled our excursions from the resort through a Costco membership. Made it cheaper. Discuss the excursions when you're there, not through a third party booking service. We did Chichenitza, and a pretty cool Cenote...

Wanting to try trail riding, any suggestions on bike?

All depends on what the o.p. plans on doing with it. My suggestion would be to start small and cheap. Street legal dual sport. Honda Crf230 Yamaha xt250, or 225 Suzuki dr200se Yamaha tw200 (if he can find one...) All of these are low seat height, and less than 300lbs. Your first offroad...

    2021+ Tuono worth the headache?

On model specific forums, you only hear about problems, not the vast majority that have never had an issue. Some bikes have common problems that need to be addressed. Gsxrs with regulators behind hot radiators. Stator failures on certain Japanese bikes. Automatic cam chain tensioner...

    2024 rate

TD raised the insurance on my gsxr600 by $200 a year. Luckily that bike is now gone. The quote for the street triple is down $200 from the gsxr quote... so I'll basically be paying the same this year as last, when I fix and insure the new to me bike. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk

    2021+ Tuono worth the headache?

My 2017 tuono 1100 rr was reliable. Didn't get absurdly hot, but wasn't a downtown traffic kind of bike. Agreed with most of what's been said above. I loved mine. Sold it during covid, when dealers couldn't get stock. I wasn't doing any long trips, so it seemed pointless to keep when they...

    Ethics of selling a motorcycle.

You warned the buyer, and they still took it. Same with the gsxr. He quoted the insurance. He's willing to pay the price. When I told him what I was paying (less than a quarter the price he was quoted) he was no doubt surprised. 20 years older. Geographical location. Licensed for 24 years. No...

    Ethics of selling a motorcycle.

To touch on one of your points: One of my offroad buddies. He has a couple friends that sold a tech company, and made out pretty well. They wanted to get into offroad riding. My friend was asking me what they should buy. I told him "crf250f. Air cooled, indestructible, easy to ride, and cheap...

    Ethics of selling a motorcycle.

I convinced my wife that the dr200 is "her bike". Cottage trail bike/buddy bike. If I disown the dr200, perhaps my score won't be brought down. Evo and bigP are "high dollar ballers", throwing around their duckets like its going out of style. I'm a "value/small change .02c wanna-baller"...

    Ethics of selling a motorcycle.

@bigpoppa @Evoex Baller club question: If I've bought, or traded 3 bikes this past year, (my new personal record). Even though none were brand new. I don't plan on getting rid of any of them in the foreseeable future. I didn't lose a bunch of money on trade-in. What are the...

    Ethics of selling a motorcycle.

Agreed. The guy I sold the bike to seems responsible, and had put about 8,000km on the street triple. He wanted to try a sportbike. I didn't feel bad about it. Not all peaches and cream though. The street triple needs work. As a plus, the street triple is $238.00 less per year on insurance...
