The "Are you thinking of a new bike for 2024?" discussion thread.

I'd also steer clear of a drz. Almost 320lbs wet. I keep my wr250r for street dual sport duty, and bought a counterbalanced husqvarna te300. I have ridden a te250i many times. It is great, but top end power is much more peaky than the 300. Easier to ride a 300, more low rev grunt. They both lug...

Is there a male loneliness epidemic?

Women are free to make their own decisions regarding dating and their sexuality, but that still has consequences... that's one thing many of them don't seem to understand. I recall some quote from a character that Jack Nicholson played. It was an Author. Edit: "As Good As It Gets" "How do...

Is there a male loneliness epidemic?

"Well, I'm offering myself". They're no prize. Sexually promiscuous, used up, with an inability to pair bond. Far more likely to divorce a future husband because of their actions on the past. I'm glad I got a good one early on. Been together over 20 years. Married the last 8. I couldn't...

Is there a male loneliness epidemic?

Agreed, but nobody suggested you should be rewarded for common courtesy. Issues I find. We live in the Disney generation. Many women expect a prince on a white horse is going to fulfill all their childhood dreams. They all chase that top 1%... then you get Hypergamy. 4th wave feminism has...

Is there a male loneliness epidemic?

I've had to work at being an extrovert. Many just implode. The younger generation doesn't know how to interact with anyone, unless they're behind a controller, and a screen. Sometimes its easier to play the victim to elicit sympathy. Happy international women's day?! Ignore men day, I think is...

    Adjustable handlebar riser

Yeah, Prairie dogging isn't good. I'm 6'2" My wr: I had a 1" riser on it. Problem is, it pulls the bars back towards me. Not good for the attack position. Now I'm 1" up, and 3/4" forward. Its closer to the stock forward position, but better for my height. My dr200. Its not good for standing...

    Adjustable handlebar riser

Rox Risers. Or buy some China amazon cheap-o riser for $30. Rox risers were too extreme for me. Settled for 1" forward, 1/2" up, or something similar. Can be installed backwards, if you want it up and closer to you. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk

    Drive spocket removal

Yep. Many of us have an "Ugga Dugga", or "dack-dack" as they're known in Australia... always liked that one. I've got an electric Dewalt that has never failed to perform. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk

    Possible Paving Scam?

Sounds like a bit of the Dunning-Kruger Effect to me... As long as you have the tools, knowledge, and experience anything is easy! I've seen lots of "homeowner specials" in my line of work... One too many episodes of This Old House, Holmes on Homes, and YouTube videos makes them experts. Sad...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Turns out I need a bluetooth adaptor for the 2014 street triple. LonElec said it for sure wouldn't work with the 2016 tiger800... Bluetooth for both. Oh well, another $130. At least its on Amazon. I can scan the truck and the wife's car with it too. At least there's that. Should be here...

What did you do in your garage today..?

I've had a bike with points. '78 cb750f Been there. Done that. You can turn off service lights. Check codes. Upload new fuel injection mapping without the need for a piggyback controller, eg. Power Commander Get readouts for throttle body sync, without needing a vacuum gauge/manometer...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Update on my TuneEcu troubles. I drove over an hour to a friend's whom owns a 2016 triumph tiger 800. Tried to connect the android version and the no longer supported windows version of TuneEcu. Flashing red light. No Bueno.... well, depending how you look at it. A defective LonElec kl-1 cable...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Tune ecu has been fighting me the last few hours. Can't seem to connect to the ecu. I'm to the point where I'm going to take the tank back off, and disconnect the ecu. Check each pinout with my multimeter to make sure the plug is good... Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk

What did you do in your garage today..?

Started the bike after the valve adjustment. There's about 5 seconds of clattery cam chain tensioner before it builds oil pressure and then sounds normal... a little nerve racking. I cut out the center of the sprocket cover. I want to keep an eye on the new lock-nut and peened washer, to make...
