What did you do in your garage today..?

Filled in a large paint chip in the hood that of course missed the ppf film. Used a toothpick but the clear (which has the pearl/flake in it) is just a bit too high. Haven’t decided if I should scrape it down, sand it, or just leave it as is. Wet sanding and a compound/polish worked fine on the...

    Daily sports car?

Oh I know. If I saw a clean one for $25k (or even $50k) it would be in my garage that day. Just spit-balling cars that I want that are appreciating.

Ride Report - 2024 Nouveaux Angleterre et Gaspe

Beautiful. This is a ride I definitely want to do.

Time for a new ride... (ideas welcome!)

Congrats! I’ve also always loved the Guzzi look.

Starter cruiser bikes and dealer vs private

My primary advice is that if spreading the payments on a 250 is even a consideration then don’t buy any motorcycle. My secondary advice (because you’re not likely to listen to the primary one) is buy used for your first bike. 250-500cc cruisers are plentiful and are bought/sold over and over...

    Daily sports car?

Although I 100% agree with your logic, it has to be wife-friendly to drive. I’ve come close to buying a Fox-body a dozen times (even this past June the guy sealing my driveway mentioned he has a Fox-body at home he’s not ready to sell but may soon so he knows to call me when that day comes). If...

    Alcohol

It was the same for me and tequila until I went to Costa Rica and met someone in the resorts private bar. I was/am a scotch drinker and he said he went down that rabbit hole and now is well down the tequila one and ordered me a pricey tequila to sip (25yr old rums/whiskies/etc were all...

What did you do in your garage today..?

I keep a binder for all my cars/toys and with the bikes I peel the stickers off and place them on the cover of the binder for quick reference. Tire pressures I can memorize but things like chain slack are nice to have close by the tools required.

    Normal car recommendation….

    Fixed.

    Daily sports car?

They're not my choice. I've driven one and it felt boringly slow unless you kept it high up in the rpm all the time.

    Daily sports car?

Now's a good time of the year to buy a convertible so what's your choice in one with a $25,000 budget? Only necessity is that it needs to be an automatic trans (I know, I know). My heart (and age) wants to say a 2002ish Firebird Trans Am convertible.

    TV shows currently watching

Only Murders in the Building on Disney. I don't find Martin Short's attempt at humour funny in the least (actually a bit annoying really) but this show is quite good. Just finished season 1 and ready for the second.

(whispers in MP's ear) "Buy a truck"

    Alcohol

Same with myself and my friends (with the exception that we DO have some dumb behaviour but we do that sober as well).

    Fork pinch bolt torque setting

They added rubber spacers in the handlebar clamps and heavier bar weights in the 17 XR, did they do the same for the R? I added heavier than oem R&G bar end weights to my 18 XR and did not notice excess vibration on the bike at all. Maybe that is a good option for you.

    Selling concert tickets

You can't resell tickets on Kijiji or Marketplace. There is a Toronto area ticket fb group though to buy/sell tickets. Forget what it's called but a search will locate it easy enough. I sold a ticket for the first time recently on Stubhub. It was easy enough (although they charge tax on the sale...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Nah we're not there yet. Rain the next few days then some warmer temps means the lawns going to get cut again and there's plenty of riding to do. Too early to swap bikes/sleds, mower/blower.

Need a new laptop... have no idea

Frig I didn’t even know that existed for home use. Thanks for that. Do you have a safe download link for the free version? Thanks for all the other replies. A tablet is too small for their vision/dexterity. They squint to see the 22” screen as it is and definitely need a real keyboard and...

Need a new laptop... have no idea

I need to send a computer to an elderly friend who's old AIO Mac has died. They want another AIO but don't need another Mac. All they use it for is to Skype and do some online shopping/banking. Any recommendations? I was thinking this one would do...
