    Winter storage tip #632

Can confirm. My last house had a typical aluminum shed that housed the lawn tractor and other maintenance crap over the winter and my first year there I tossed a half dozen Irish Spring bars as well as a dozen or so dryer sheets in there. Opened it up in the Spring and the bars looked like the...

What Are You Currently Listening To?

Dumb question and somewhat off topic but I've not been to a show at the skydome outside of the Summer so with a few of us heading to a show there this weekend (yes her) what are the temps like inside when it's low single digits outside? I'm assuming packed inside it won't be very cold but just...

    Daily sports car?

Lets see how the used sports car market is next year as more mortgages become due for renewal at higher rates.

What did you do in your garage today..?

Air flow is nice for 95% of the years riding. If cold-protection is the goal just wear nitrile gloves underneath for that 5% of riding that they’re needed.

What did you do in your garage today..?

It was wet at the house until almost noon today and I just wasn’t in the mood to ride today so I took advantage of the nice weather to wash the bike after yesterdays adventures and then do a complete Fall clean/protect inside and out of the cars. I’ve upped my protectant game to some better...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Thanks. I took your tip and made a “Death Box” with five snap traps inside for an outside area they’ve been seen by the house as well as a “Death Bucket” with the usual PB can on a wire.

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

Electronics are pretty similar to other modern bikes with adjustable modes, traction control, abs, etc settings. The big deal is the Rally Mode option with adjustable throttle action (think quick-turn) and the adjustable slip level that lets you power slide through the fire roads and trails at...

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

I had planned to ride Elephant Lake/Siberia/South Lavant/etc today but I was in rain from Havelock to Lower Faraday and with no clear skies in sight so I headed back south and pivoted to a trail day playing around in Ganaraska Forest.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

What is a good mouse poison or exterior trap? Sounds like I have mice crawling around in the soffits when I’m outside and we’ve had a few in the house now as well. Cat kills them quickly but I’d like to kill what I can that are in the soffits or outside around the house.

What did you do in your garage today..?

Carb. No electric fuel pump. I attached a photo best I could as it’s tucked away now. You can see the fuel filter and the line goes to what I’m assuming is the pump (black).

What did you do in your garage today..?

1 week no problem starts right up in a sec or two. 2 or more weeks and it’ll crank for 15sec or longer before starting.

What did you do in your garage today..?

No shutoff. Yes I was thinking the same thing but I can’t see where air would be getting in. Fittings look solid.

What did you do in your garage today..?

I winterized mine today (John Deere D180). Wash, wax, oil change. It always has to crank for a while when not used for a couple weeks before it’ll start. I’m assuming it’s losing the fuel prime but don’t see anywhere it’s sucking in air through hoses/fittings. Possibly in need of a new fuel...

Recent movies you saw - recommend or no

I watched Canary Black mostly because I have a big Kate Beckinsale crush. The movie itself is pretty bad (the first 15min is almost unwatchable but it does get better after that). Too much Botox/filler has Kate looking weird now sadly.

    2024 Day Trips

No I hit it mid-October for an awesome ride already. I’ll just try to get there one more time because I enjoy it so much.

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

Excellent customer service from S&J Hardware. I had a shotgun placard that hadn’t been used on the range yet fall apart and they mailed me out a pair of replacements for free. Good places like this deserve our business.

    2024 Day Trips

Pretty much the best area to Fall ride imo. Hoping the weather cooperates enough to let me ride it in the next few days.

    COVID and the housing market

Of course it’ll be area-dependent but $391sq.ft. Is high. $300sqft is much more realistic with mid-grade finishings inside/out (plus service hookups and well if applicable).
