NEW RIDERS - great rates + moto advice - NFP Moto

I'm not sure if this is going to be with NFPMoto or the staff that transferred from Dalton Timmis. I just discovered that with the Echelon policy that they brokered, that I was marked down as them cancelling my insurance. This was when Echelon changed their policy to no longer insure those...

    Waterproof and Somewhat Warm Gloves

Since these are infrequent use gloves, simply wearing latex/nitrile gloves underneath will get the job done. You'd be surprised how warm those are and you still have your normal glove in terms of feel and protection.

Garage Door Opener wired to handle bars

You can't open the garage door via voice command without 3rd party workarounds and etc. Security precaution. You can close, but not open.

    Touring Tires

It depends on the definition of sport. Multi compound sport touring tires will have less grip when upright, but comparable grip when fully leant over when compared to a sport tire. There are multiple classes of sport tires as well. I would never choose an ST tire for maximum lean angle...

Do cell phone batteries die suddenly

An oem phone battery is good for about 1000 cycles (charge/discharge) before degradation is noticeable. Think of it like age where 1000 cycles is like hitting middle age. You don't move around as well as you did as a teen but you can still do most of the stuff you've always done. You also...

Have a new rider in family. I think I have a plan but can someone offer tips on getting started re: licensing and insurance?

A couple weekend/day courses, a few months of riding experience split over winter (while studying for final year of uni/college) is an awfully short timeline for prepping a road trip. Of course, the definition of a road trip is diverse as well as the type of riding they expect to do. I'd be...

    Riding during winter

I've ridden in as low as -5c before windchill, on the highway for a couple hours. Exposed flesh is an issue. Appropriate gloves is the highest priority (Revit Kodiaks are what I finally settled on). Underarmor Base 4.0 was enough for me, no heated gear needed, but it is not appropriate office...

Please help, bike goes to neutral when shifting from 1st to 2nd - is it normal ?

Let the clutch out fully, then pull it in again. It should shift from neutral to 2nd then. If you keep getting neutral instead of 2nd, maybe you need to adjust where your shifter is.

    Supernaked to Supermoto

Gotta say that after trying a sumo on the gap, i've been looking at kijiji ever since I got back. Can definitely see problems with enjoying it to it's fullest on Ontario streets though. It's going to be my 3rd bike (2nd insured).

    2015 Honda cb300f luggage options

You can also get the street rack plate option for the comedy $500 milk crate option. I use this one to strap soft luggage and parcels to.

    2015 Honda cb300f luggage options

SW motech rack. You have to get a quick release adapter plate but with the plate you can use anybody's top box not just ss motechs. This one bolts into my subframe in 4 places and I've lifted the bike from it when I replaced my rear shock. Of course it may be different mounting for yours.

Thinking about getting a commuter, ideas welcome...

A naked 300-400 would be fantastic on economy but the rpms at 130+ can get tiring for commuting comfort. Anything middleweight naked with an aftermarket screen and hard luggage would be great. You get the nimbleness of a handlebar at low speed, the ease of maintenance of having no fairings and...

    QuadLock - where to buy

It works great if you need to keep your screen on. I find the biggest issue I had prior to the wireless charging head was that the usb cable would get bumped a lot (i have a tank bag too) and the port was getting sloppy. One look at the labor charge to get a new usb port soldered on my phone...

Any track days allow textile gear?

And from the organizer liability point of view, why coddle the unique snow flake that will then turn around and sue you for acquiescing to their demand.

    Ear Protection - opinion.

Disagree but that's an opinion. You are riding first, analyzing music/conversation second. If you are the type to get enraptured by butterflies at the roadside after an oncoming 18 Wheeler enters your lane ahead of you, you are right, operating a motor vehicle is not for you. For the talk of...
