    Bearings OK. What about seals?

Got rethinking this. The bikes only purpose is to go in a straight line so I'm thinking @bitzz idea is a good way to go. A snug fitting, lightly greased, fender washer cut from a margarine container lid or suitable tupperware should work and not compress much, if any when the bearing goes in...

Advice/Help on Engine Rebuild of an '03 GSX750F Katana

Probably mine too. All good advice. Jump in and split those cases! I was scared the first time I took an inline four with integrated tranny apart but with the manual in hand it all went well. That was was a 76 CB750. A 4 valve per cylinder 84 GPZ900R (ninja) had more parts but again with a...

    Anyone here a cyclist?

Squeeze and I bought new bikes this year. We took them with us camping so they spent some nights in the rain. What's the "winterizing" routine for bicycles?

How much steering rotation lock to lock?

I did a quick check on 3 bikes that were easy to get at. All between about 32-35 degrees per side. When I get the front end back together I'll compare that to what I need and go from there.

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

Wow today was great. EVERBODY was out. Tons of bikes, car guys with the classics and the hot rods getting a last hurrah. Even some women thinking the weather was short worthy. Good on em.

    Rabaconda tire changer

Is your set up just a glorified bead breaker? I've started breaking beads with a C clamp. It's a little pokey but works well for the amount I need to do. What is the benefit of that $89 special over just wrangleing with it on the bench? ( I assume it needs to be clamped down??) I change just...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Pulled up some 1/4 round in the upstairs bathroom in prep for new flooring. Getting it installed so that's the extent of my effort for that room. Baseboard in the family room is almost removed, more new flooring there. Again installed by others. I've spent hours on my knees installing tile...

I'll try ordering the flat seal as you suggested as a start.

    Bearings OK. What about seals?

I thought about cutting the appropriate sized flat washer out of thin rubber But didn't like the idea of the bottom race sitting on rubber.

    Bearings OK. What about seals?

After my last post I'm good on the bearings, but what about ordering seals?. In thee All Balls steering bearing kit you get a seal for the bottom. A large very thin fender washer with a rubber seal around the outside. (fits under the bottom race on the stem) How and where can I order these kind...

How much steering rotation lock to lock?

Thanks @Brian P. Any chance of a rough measurement of the angle your bike has? Also I'm interested in the aftermarket stops. I'm really scared to weld on the steering stem for fear of shrinking it and having trouble getting new bearings in. ( This fear is based on how well the weld and shrink...
