The air-cooled ones like your 800 is 12k km. The newer water-cooled ones are more and the newer newer ones without Desmo valves go even longer.

My Desmo was just valves and belts and spark plugs on my old Scrambler 800. The new Monster won't need it for a while still but I can't see that other stuff being a "must-have" from the dealer. Better like hot-running bikes and toasty thighs if you're thinking of a Ducati.
