I think that is just it, we are all pulling from personal experience which is hardly a basis of reality. My experience is opposite, met many HD riders on the road who have been very friendly, be it touring or just pulling to a gas station around town.
Not sure about the sabotaged marketing...
The idea that HD owners scorn other brands is a bit ridiculous. I have found most HD riders to be incredibly friendly and interested. Sure there are some "purists" but that is not just a Harley thing. SS riders, ADV riders, Goldwing riders, etc etc.
If sales really are dwindling dealers would...
Having the Harley dealer network is HUGE. I do not think HD riders would revolt, they would just need to keep the brands separate. Bikers like looking at bikes, even Harley riders. Pretty sure the BMW bike dealer is bigger then the KTM in N. America and I read about guys who are 900 miles away...
Good to know. Not sure I have ever seen an HOV lane in Ontario, usually when going to Toronto it is just to Pearson Airport, I make it a point to stay away unless I need to head out that way. I have used HOV lanes in the US out in Oregon and it was fantastic, traffic was stand still for miles...
I would buy my BMW bike batteries from the local Harley shop. They were great to deal with and stood by their product. Had a defective Yuasa battery from them and they just swapped it, no questions, no receipt, just replaced it for me.
Harley is making an adv bike, will be curious to see what...
14,000 km seems pretty close to brand new to me. I would not even flinch at a bike with that low km.
I agree completely, maintenance and proper care are worth a lot. I had a loaner bike when mine was in for service a month back. Think it was a 2012 BMW RT and it had 178,000+ km on it. Bike road...
+1 on the colour.
Kind of reminds me of one of the colour options BMW had for a bit on the GSA. If they had had it in stock when I bought my '15 I would have gone that colour.

I used to deal with KW Honda when I have a CB919. They were always great to deal with and...
did not know about the crown land camping, very interesting.
This is New Hamburg so not part of Guelp, but same idea. I have trouble believing/accepting the notion of a city owning land that is private.
The idea was more for quick and easy camping with my cousin and his young kid. I live about...
There is some flood plain land around my small town and was curious what the rules are in terms of camping on it for a night. I tried searching online and came to the GRCA (Grand River Conversation Authority) website that detailed what the land was used for and it gave me a regulation code. I...
Was going to suggest looking at a different brand for the top case, something not as tall but it seems everything on that bike looks awkward. I like the looks of the bike alone, but once you add a top case of any shape it looks bizarre.

The level of insurance would really be dependent on the value of the bike. My first bike was $500 and I did the bare minimum insurance as the deductible was worth more then the bike. If your deductible is more then your bike or equal then it does not make a lot of sense.
If the bike is basically the same I would go with the new one unless colour is really that important to you. They may be the same generation but most likely they have done little tweaks and fixes of issues as the years have gone on.
Really helps if we know the bike you are talking about. Cannot even comment about about which one is better without knowing what you are talking about.
Personally I would not buy a bike thinking about depreciation. Get a bike you will enjoy riding and enjoy it till you are ready to move on to...
certainly a cheap motorcycle. What do you do when you need support or something replaced under warranty? How long will you be waiting to get replacement parts? I am assuming it is pretty basic engine wise so probably any bike shop can deal with issues that might arise. I still prefer having a...
Have tried contact Dual Sport Plus a few times but they have never returned any of my email inquiries. They were always slow but would always get back to me in a day or two with the previous owners, who were fantastic and stood behind everything they did. I have been shopping elsewhere as they...
I believe these are the ones he has
DENALI D4 2.0 TriOptic LED Light Kit with DataDim Technology - TwistedThrottle.ca
Be careful if ordering from Twisted Throttle. I have been dinged with duty charges when ordering Denali lights from them despite it being from their .CA site.
