Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

I see reports that York region has already started brining. Is it safe to assume Simcoe and Muskoka counties will also have started salting/brining?

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

Is that one readable in daylight? I bought something similar and it is unreadable in daylight, even if you shield it with cupped hands.

What did you do in your garage today..?

Does grinding metal present a threat to starting a fire inside your dust collector/shop vac if you have wood or other dust there? I have a fairly decent sized cyclone dust collector and was told accidentally sucking up a screw could ignite the contents of the bin via sparks...

Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

My rule of thumb is to avoid users whose profile pics show them flexing.

What did you do in your garage today..?

I had 6 or 8 of these at my cottage garage. I never used the remotes but did love the motion detection. They were pretty sensitive though and my wife was always upset that one of them often seemed to be on when it shouldn't. I assume they were getting tripped reasonably often by chipmunks or...

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

That’s a drive I made many times when I was a teenager as we owned a property out there and I worked a couple of summers there.. Port Perry was a funny little town then. Night life consisted of one bar called Crandell’s and another bar whose name escapes me. The first time I got kicked out of...

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

Thanks - currently using it. I was just interested in comparing its reporting of maximum lean angle and top speeds to something else. I compared reported top speed to my GPS and MyRide was significantly lower; OTOH lean angles MyRide report seem extreme for the way I ride on public roads...

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

Thanks. That's a shame. I'd used the app a while ago and recall I liked it; went to search for it earlier this season and couldn't find anything in the store or on their web page.

    New tiger 800

The Tiger line is so confusing. 5 lines with different nominal displacements, and then variants within some of the lines.

Good point. To be honest, if I were to sell a bike again and couldn't easily ride somewhere pretty, I'd probably get a big painter's drop cloth and shoot against that.

Found it on Kijiji but not on MP. If it were me, I would retake one of your pictures after closing your garage door. When I look back at the listing for the bike I sold this year, I hate the fact the garage is open. It's not particularly messy and there's a nice car there on a lift, but it...

Good luck - Where's the listing? I assume that's not a picture from your ad. Nice pictures can make a big difference. In sales you're often not just selling the object.

What did you do in your garage today..?

Both good tips! I did try using safety wire to tie the fuel lines, but was worried they would eventually cut through. Why I didn't think of zip ties though, I will never know. I use them for everything. My favourite use for them is propping up the little threaded inserts that sit in your...
