The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

Where no bike lane is present a bicycle falls under the standard definition for "vehicle." That means overtaking on the right of a vehicle making a legally signalled right turn is forbidden, and failure to yield right-of-way. "Legal turn" would be the operative expression here.

I should note that in my rewatch of "Z-Nation" I'm reminded that it was the first time I can remember seeing Katy O'Brien ("The Mandalorian", "Twisters").

I'm trying to figure out where this happened, but no luck. I thought it might be Countryside Drive but the city currently doesn't list any construction there.

Unfortunately my camera is currently not working, or I'd have posted video. It needs a new power cable (on order).

I hadn't been up to Forks of the Credit in years, so I took a quick run up there this morning. I came back along Mississauga Road and as I came over a rise, just south of town, a pickup truck ran the stop sign on a cross street right in front of me. They then proceeded to run two more, on...

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

If it was a media outlet then I would say that's the case, because media don't tend to use such terms properly. When it's a police force press release, I expect such terms to carry something closer to their meaning in legalese.

Also, it was specifically the possibility of jail time that changed HTA 172 so that a defence of necessity was possible, for the speeding portion.

If the prohibition is part of a recognizance order, then there will be an additional hearing on breach of recognizance. That could mean jail time.

That is really disappointing. All the due diligence in the world can't help if police then drop the ball. They were handed a win on a silver platter and might well have found more than just the jet skis.

The aesthetic definitely isn't for everyone. It's kind of a modern Steampunk superhero thing, which is sort of its own genre unto itself.

"The Umbrella Academy" season 4, on Netflix. Pretty much hit the ground running and is as weird as ever. you would think that they were done after the ending events of Season 3, but they found a way.

When you see police start making regular patrol cars less obvious, you immediately know that deterrence has been removed from their vocabulary. Looking at you, Peel and Toronto.

Yup, typical intimidation tactic. Before that the civvy would have thought that it was just a bunch of guys ganging up on someone. I predict $1M+ in compensation, but a sealed agreement. I guess that also proves that I know the area pretty well, after 25 years working there, since I called both...

The speed limit for a cyclist on a sidewalk, in Toronto, is zero. It's illegal for an adult to ride a bicycle on a sidewalk in Toronto.

The cyclist might have based their actions on the knowledge that a turn was illegal, making it far from irrelevant.

The provenance of the bullet might well answer a lot of questions, if it's largely intact. They likely would have seized the weapons of all officers who were on scene, at the time of the incident, f there was an inkling that one was involved.

I'm waiting for him to start talking about stopping Sharknados by nuking them. I have a friend who worked on those and he'd be dining free, off that, for a decade.
