Taken at almost exactly 4:00pm. What happens when 5:00pm hits and more people start moving around? Lot starts to fill up and this jerk is in the way. EDIT - This, folks, is why you scrub the EXIF data from anything that you post online. Sometimes GPS data is also included. Date 2024-11-14...

And I need to check if a new WWDITS has been released since I watched the last one. That show could go on forever and I'd be fine with it.

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

Compared to the American statistics, our rates of recidivism are remarkably low. IIRC something like 1/3 of theirs. California got "tough on crime", not so long ago. The whole "three strikes" thing. They ended up having jails so full that people were being convicted of serious crimes, like...

So straight-up 50/50 fault rather than the usual bit of people not understanding that they are at fault when they hit someone, while driving on the wrong side of the road. "I got there first" doesn't really apply.

Don't you mean 30 Kmh roads?

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

When I went to Sheridan, back in '84, the Peel Tactical Response Team got called to campus for an armed individual sighting. I was up in the top floor labs at the time, with a perfect view of the belly of a sniper on the roof, and overlooking the outer building where the armed person was...

How about "do justice to The Edda"? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edda

"Ragnarok" feels like doing a modern take on the Edda justice. They definitely weave the mythology into the story.

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

In the US this sort of thing tends to make its way through the courts faster, but I can't find any updates on it with a simple search.

This is how you handle a drunk, badge flashing cop. I will, however, say that I'm not a fan of suspending the audio while he talks to the supervisor.

Shows like these tend to be rather educational so yes, perhaps "enjoy" isn't exactly the right word. Shows like "To Catch a Smuggler", "Border Security", and "North Woods Law" make a lot more sense on a network like Discovery, than do the shows like "Ancient Aliens."

If you're enjoying that, you should also look into "Border Security." They have shows from the US, Canada, and Australia.

I'm actually surprised that they bothered to fake a plate, given how many bikes I've been seeing on the road with no plate at all.

Recent movies you saw - recommend or no

Feeling like it's a day to rewatch "Idiocracy."

Could well be. Any court case would need to somehow prove undue pressure, due to the employer-employee relationship.

That might be a tough row to hoe, given that the employee was voluntarily in the car and the likely conversation that preceded it.

Not enough but then it never really seems to be, when a life is forever changed because of someone's selfishness.

That's exactly the sort of thing that I'm worried about. It's only done it once in three months, so far, but it still has me on edge.

It seems that, in my case at least, the blind spot monitoring and lane keep assist aren't connected. I get a blind spot warning every day when I turn onto the ramp from Lakeshore to The Gardiner, at York. https://maps.app.goo.gl/e5yC6bCu8fJf5UYq7

Now that I finally have a vehicle with auto braking and blind spot monitoring, I have a much better handle on some of the things that are happening on the roads, I think. I've had auto braking absolutely nail the brakes on me, twice. Once was when I was getting a bit close to the back of a cop...
