Where do you guys go for new tires?

I never knew anyone at the West location. I used to hang out at the East location in the early 90's until my friends all moved to McBride.

Keith at Cycle World East? Damn, how young is Ted?

37? More like 55. I could get a 46 from Princess Auto, but not a 55. And even then, it's not perfect - ideally you want a flat edge instead of a chamfer to avoid slipping. Best case you slip and damage the nut, worse case the wheel. When you roll into a shop needing a rear tire and the shop...

    Ever had this happen?

Hopefully the other bike hasn't sold yet (or couldn't be sold because of the missing ownership). My guess is that the paperwork got mixed up in the dealership, maybe while uncrating. If they registered both them the same way, then the other owner would be in the same situation with Gary's...

    Now that was slick.

Probably just pagers as a knee-jerk reaction, just like when they banned the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 or how they used to make you remove your shoes.

    Ever had this happen?

I have to say, I always check the VIN on the frame against the ownership and thought I was just being paranoid, but now you've vindicated me.

    Now that was slick.

If they're smart enough to infiltrate the manufacturing process, surely they thought of that too. The actual messages were probably encrypted (analog).

    Ever had this happen?

If you bought it new from the dealership and they registered everything for you initially, then they should fix it for you. If for some reason they won't, and you have a bill of sale with a VIN matching your frame, then SO should be able to issue you a new ownership, similarly to how they do it...

    Royal Distributing tent sale!

At least go to the Whitby location so that you can also visit GP down the street, or ReGear in Oshawa if you're deal hunting.

    Royal Distributing tent sale!

Yeah, for sized gear, it's like shopping at Winners. For fluids or accessories, if you were going to buy them anyways, then there is some savings.

Rules for "Fallen Riders/In Memory of" forum

That is what I was originally asking. It just seemed redundant to be posting the same news articles in 2 forums, so I wanted to make sure we can coment if posted in General. As of now, @Wingboy is saying it would be kosher in Trash Talk as long as no names are mentioned, which the articles never...

Rules for "Fallen Riders/In Memory of" forum

I think you're beating a dead horse. We've moved on from changing the rules in that forum. The question is whether we can discuss the same topic in the General (or other) forum.

OK, if the bottom line is that people can't control themselves and act respectfully, then there's no way forward regardless of how reasonable the ask is. And that's a shame regardless of the topic.

Anyone got a chain breaker/riveting tool I can borrow?

The Motion Pro should have a hex for use with a wrench if the included rod doesn't give you enough leverage.

Anyone got a chain breaker/riveting tool I can borrow?

Yeah, I have one of those on my shelf waiting to be installed when next needed. I did my very first rivet link after many years of clips, and it was a pain even with my friend's chain tool. My OCD was making be measure and remeasure the rivet width. Too little and you risk it coming out, too...

Well, deduction and experience. We may never determine what exactly happened, but discussing the plausible possiblities accomplishes the same goal - which is to build situational awareness of dangerous scenarios.
