    Bluetooth, where to start!

Have a Garmin XT. Had a Schuberth C3 Pro with a Cardo Freecom 4+, which worked well except that the music volume control was on the wrong device. Make sure you test, before a long ride, and not during one. The problem is that the Cardo is best stuck onto the Schuberth, which is technically...

    Overbearing electronics

Go to a course where they do progressive or emergency braking. If the people there aren’t skilled, they are at least working to become so. Check your braking distance and speed compared to them. I’m good on my ABS equipped bike, under all weather conditions. That’s not to say that I don’t...

Q: Did watching racing on Sunday sell you a bike on Monday?

If that was truly the case, everyone would still have a working Honda in their garage.

    Overbearing electronics

Had a WeeStrom that just had an early version of ABS. It did extremely well when braking against other students at courses; especially, when they didn’t have ABS. New Tiger has cruise, which is almost required when travelling long distances at 85 mph in the U.S. A drawback is that the service...

    Gortex question.

I was told that Gortex is waterproof or breathable, never both at the same time. For the most part, I wear something breathable, and carry a waterproof jacket. I did notice this year, that the jacket and pants are good on a motorcycle, but poor off of one. Rain was going down my neck, and...

    To be Canadian

Drinking Molson Canadian is stereotypical first generation immigrants. I grew up in a transition neighbourhood. Immigrants would move in for a couple of years, find out where their ghetto was, then move out. First the Irish, then Germans, then Italians, Greeks, Newfies, and much later east...

    MacDoc's new ride 2018 MT03 ends with 2017 GS310 loaded mebbe?

I always like a big windscreen now, but it depends on your height, where you go and how fast you travel. Doing 85 mph in the States definitely gets tiring in the wind. For me, even doing 80 kph, I don't like the wind on my chest, and I have stubby legs and a long torso.

    What are you reading?

Sounds like Tarzan, John Carter of Mars et al. Just listened to a podcast. Are they ok here or separate?

    Hearing test

Had a free one at Costco a month ago. Getting some wax cleaned out at the doctor’s Thursday, and a second test next week. No cost has been mentioned. I will probably end up with hearing aids. Many of the hearing aid shops offer free tests.

Make sure the bolts screwing the cleats to the shoes are tightened. I lost one and it caused the shoes to not unclip. How are people dealing with the multitude of unlicensed uninsured electric motorcycles flipping between bike lanes, roads and sometimes sidewalks? Do you just avoid Toronto?

    Leafs

It's getting colder, but the Leafs don't fall until the end of April. It's not Autumn yet, but on average Sept. 27th is good if you're looking for red leaves in Algonquin.

Was following a truck yesterday from Tweed. No lights at all on the trailer, and the boat hid the trucks lights. This is a no brainer.

This season has been terrible for motorcyclists

It used to take 8-12 minutes to cross Toronto on the Gardiner. They still haven't fixed the Don Mills south off ramp to make up for the removed Gardiner section, or figured a way to do proper maintenance on the Lakeshore east of Jarvis. When I first moved to Ottawa I noticed that it was worse...

Will this help HD attract younger buyers??

Have a friend who owns three now. Third one was purchased within the last month. He went to hop on the third one yesterday and it wouldn't start. :( Two are inactive. Still waiting for parts or diagnosis on the one that he'd ride. Not attracting me to the brand, and I don't think it would...
