    H-D Sales Numbers

That would be us. When I was pricing it out, outdoor storage on a 25' trailer could be had for as little as $50/mo unsecured and $100-150/mo secured. Assuming secured, works out to $1400-2000/yr. Add $4-600/yr insurance, and just possessing the thing costs $2500/yr. Maintenance is never ending...

    H-D Sales Numbers

To be honest, I have never looked particularly deeply into how financing works on RV's. The thought of buying a massively depreciating asset (value plummets so fast they make German luxury cars look like a good investment) that way seems like such a bad idea that I've never done much but laugh...

    H-D Sales Numbers

Much as I'd love to have a good old-fashioned HD gloat, I don't see anything here that looks too catastrophic for HD in particular. Rather numbers that reflect trends across all industries selling expensive recreational toys. The only number that's really dropped in a meaningful way YOY is Q3...

    KTM's in trouble ?

Are those segments, "I like orange/Austria," "I like yellow/Sweden," and, "I like red/Spain"? Heck, they even do it with their MotoGP bikes. Same bike, different logo. Speaking of which, rumours are that KTM is only second to Ducati in money spent in the series, wonder if that will dry up...

    KTM's in trouble ?

Maybe they're all that counts in product design, but Toyota is the world's largest car manufacturer (by volume) largely on the back of their reputation for value, quality and reliability, and the same can be said for Honda in the motorcycle world. Perceived quality does matter for sales, and...

    KTM's in trouble ?

Agreed, though the question seems to be whether the street side has gotten so big that it could drag the dirt side down with it. A huge percentage of their growth over the last decade has been on the street side, after all. Maybe MV Agusta is cursed! Not sure how HD's struggles and subsequent...

    2025 CSBK Schedule

Fair enough. I mostly stopped paying attention when I lived in BC, as it might as well have been BSB for how local it was. I can also see why Calabogie is off the calendar, as it's a trackday track, not an event track. Would still love GB to repair their grandstand, though, as it's good enough...

Advice/Help on Engine Rebuild of an '03 GSX750F Katana

That's the one I got, only because it was on sale. There's a cheaper blue one that appears to be largely identical, and as long as you don't have a massive dresser, is fine. The front wheel chock on both is garbage, but you can get a much higher quality one from PA for not a lot more that works...

Advice/Help on Engine Rebuild of an '03 GSX750F Katana

Have a look on Facebook. I deleted my Facebook profile ages ago, but ended up making a fake name one both for access to the RC51 owners groups and classifieds. I found most smaller model-specific forums have migrated there, sadly. Edit: looks like there's three Facebook groups, two private. One...

Advice/Help on Engine Rebuild of an '03 GSX750F Katana

You're right in that the deepest I got was down to a bare frame and engine, everything else except the triple tree was stripped. But even dropping a motor requires tearing a lot of the bike off, I would still want the lift for all that and especially for reassembly. Not to mention, if you're...

Advice/Help on Engine Rebuild of an '03 GSX750F Katana

Others here will have a LOT more experience than me on the specifics of your rebuild, but I can share some lessons I learned taking a beat up street RC51 and converting it to a track bike. I never got as far as splitting cases or removing heads, but I did get pretty deep, including swapping...

    2025 CSBK Schedule

Whoa. Only five rounds? Just as many in Alberta as Ontario? No Grand Bend or Calabogie? No Shannonville closer? Season over in early August? I've complained in the past about it being the Ontario SBK championship, but this is unexpected...

    KTM's in trouble ?

Everything you say about debt to buy brands, pricing and multiple models with different colour plastic is very true, but I think you're underestimating the huge impact that perceived quality has on buyers, especially when you're trying to market yourself as a prestige European brand. Bikes...

    COVID and the housing market

BoC comes down 0.5% today. Pretty much as expected.

    COVID and the housing market

Wasn't just new builds. A typical house in our neighbourhood went from $550k when we were buying in mid-2019 to over $1.2M at the height of the Covid craziness in Q1 of '22. It doesn't take a real estate guru, or a crystal ball, to see how stupid that is. Sales are finally shifting along...

    KTM's in trouble ?

Something similar in RideApart today (minus the trademark bitchy cattyness of Soup): https://www.rideapart.com/news/738332/pierer-mobility-ktm-mv-agusta-gasgas-lay-off-executive-cuts-revenue/ Sounds like KTM is genuinely in real trouble. They've grown sales aggressively and exponentially, but...

    900,000 students coming in…

Minimum wage in Ontario just clicked over $17/hr. Scumbag CT owner was 'hiring' for a supervisory role at just a few bucks over minimum wage. And crying about how no Canadians are willing to work for that rate. The problem with bringing third world wages to Canada is we get dragged down to third...

The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

Never mind. This one is actually the same size as the original, just shorter so you can sit further forward. Google didn't pull up any other obvious alternatives that fit the design of the bike, but I didn't look very hard...

The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

That one is actually smaller. Only 8 litres! The one that's bigger is a good bit more at roughly $4000 CAD plus tax and shipping, and requires a different seat: Kit Basic Fuoriluogo

2024 MotoGP Discussion Thread (No Links - May Contain Spoilers

This season's racing is dull to me because I don't care to watch a one-make prototype championship. Nothing to do with Marquez. I don't like Marquez, mostly because I think he's a dangerous rider who is perfectly happy to put other riders at risk, even when he stands to gain very little, but...
