Factory teams will pay riders, but I think most people don't realize, for satellite teams, a large part of who the rider is comes down to how much money the rider brings with them to the team. There are plenty of racers at the top levels that are paying for their seat.
I'm more curious about the line in the article about 'inching towards' the championship. Unless they're having another round somewhere next month it's over? I'd guess there will be another round at bogie since I'm pretty sure SMP isn't happening at the end of Sept. Who knows, who cares ;)

Whether the season happens or not is not really an AMA or CSBK decision. Public health says no large gathers....then no racing.
