Was looking online for skateboard wheels to use as axle sliders. Came across skaters shoes that look and describe like feets of engineering. Some are pleasing to the eye as well. Can they be worn by sidewalk commandos or breach of fashion?
Was quite surprised Metal Supermarket (Stoney Creek) didn't have any chromo tube/plate or 5/16 alum. flatstock on hand. Too oddball, apparently. Does anybody have first hand experience with specialty metal supplier in GTA? Real world, not google. TIA.
For getting into tight areas around m/c frame. I have the standard 4.5 and 5 inch type but that's to big. Is anybody using a slim but strong grinder maybe 2-3 inch and cut-off?
Is not happening today because it's raining. In the meantime, does anybody have any tricks? It's 5x5x5/16 angle. I have to gouge out 4in. x 5 in. deep in mortar. Was going to use 3/8 concrete bit and chisel and just work it out thru sheer determination. Is there a better way?
OK, I want to brace a mild steel tube frame but feel it might twist from the welding process. Googling frame jigs I see all kinds of DIY affairs. Nobody mentions where to source the cones and pointed bar for the neck. Any ideas?
Campbell Ave. E between old ball park and Campbellville Pond. Uphill left hander going west into Campbellville. Corner was completely soaked around 1pm. Almost binned it. A little further east there's always gravel in a corner. Always. That I was ready for. The water. No. I will go there 2moro...
I bought a pair of custom laced (Talon hubs, Excel rims) wheels thru a local vendor from a California company. The front is pulled about 1/4" to the right. I did not see this until tire and wheel was mounted.
The rear came wider than I ordered. I accepted it and bought a tire to suit. Upon...
Does anybody know of and have experience with a frame jig anywhere in the Golden Horseshoe area? I want to take before and after bracing measurements. It's a BMW airhead.
Just thinking out loud hear. Power went out last nite. Flashlight proving to be bare minimum. How about running a string of LED lights off the car battery? Easy to unfurl in hallways and rooms as needed.
Any electrical engineers in here? Bad idea?
After many years of faithful service, the sound system finally crashed. I was running a battery tender+12v car battery+Pioneer car stereo+2@6"x9"+2@4" round speakers. There's got to be a better way.
Guy a Timmies was telling me about tiny speakers that sound like big speakers. Like the Bose...
I've read enough on the internet about nickel-bronze welding (technically it's brazing) that I'm going to use that method when bracing a mild steel frame. Does anybody here work with it and have any local equipment and consumables tips?
We all know penmanship is important. But how important?
Today most of the construction crew left work early because of a "bomb threat".
Written on a washroom wall. It was decided by the upper echelon brain trust this threat should not be taken seriously due to the bad penmanship. Police were...
I think the main thrust of Pearls post was to question the advice given to stay furthest to the right. He argued that staying to the left gives more opportunity to be seen by oncoming traffic. I'm not convinced of this and even if it were true I still feel safer on the far right. Just an opinion...
I understand the point you're making, but I'm trying to visualize the whole play. Doesnt the blue triangle change constantly as the two cars get closer together? Where, if the goal is to be outside the blue triangle, one lane position is ideal when the cars have a certain relationship and...
