Lol. The trail included sheer cliffs as well which is a bit unnerving as the horses like to wait until they're on the edge before turning in but nobody died so it was all good haha.
My seat was modified by Mean City Cycles. They "lowered" it so there's not a lot of padding there but I would use my Airhawk every couple of hours which made a huge difference.
The bars are by West Coast T-Bars. After having apes on my Street Glide I went to t-bars for comfort. They're only 28"...
Zion is definitely my favorite NP that I've visited.
Bryce Canyon isn't too far from Zion so I spent a day there as well.
The hoodoos are super cool.
I rode a horse to the floor of the canyon.
I ate at local diners and stayed away from chain restaurants.
Had to get a pic at Monument...
Even though I don't live in the GTA anymore I thought I'd share some pics from my big road trip this past May in 2022. Maybe it can give some ideas on where to ride if you find enough time to make the trip.
I left from Northeast Georgia at the beginning of May and was on the road for 14 days. I...
I just did an epic ride from Georgia in May that included the Grand Canyon, Horseshoe Bend (Page, AZ), Zion, Bryce Canyon, Monument Valley and Arches NP in Moab.
Not sure how warm it'll be in March but I would highly recommend any of those places.
I've been getting bored of riding the same roads around here (yes, it's possible) but after returning from a two week bike trip to the Southwest and seeing your posts I can't wait to get back out there this weekend. 😎
Head's up on a photo opportunity when you're passing by Table Rock State Park (waypoint 14 on your map). This is the view from a few years ago but they've created a pull-off rest area since then so keep an eye out for it.
Have a fun trip!
@shanekingsley I rode 178 today and don't remember seeing it on your routes. I always forget how nice this road is but it's a great one that passes through NC/SC.
Don't know if you've ridden it before but if not it makes for a nice loop with 276:
Used a pull out to take a pic of the new bike...
Since I live in North Georgia I can give you a couple of pointers here.
When you're leaving Helen there's a great road that literally runs by my house - 197 out of Clarkesville along Lake Burton.
It's much curvier than it looks on the map.
Also, when leaving Clayton I would take Warwoman to...
I'm way late to this thread but just had a chance to read through it and have to say that I'm seriously impressed by the roads you know Shane.
I live in north GA (Clarkesville) and get to ride the roads in your report all the time and you've pretty much nailed them all. I can't count the...
Some info stateside for you guys planning trips...
I live in north Georgia near the mountains and for the most part you'd forget that there's a pandemic right now. Most restaurants are open with some taking more precautions than others.
I did a trip to the Ozarks (BTW, the TV show is shot in...
Rode up this way today and about 6kms before Buckhorn the road turns into gravel. Encountered big gravel stones and to make matters worse most of it was wet so it was a semi-muddy gravel road. Lower half of bike was covered in mud by the time we reached Buckhorn. There was no warning and no...
