Smell Test

Showed up in Toronto yesterday, and noticed multiple people who want to smell good, but seem to have lost their sense of smell. You don’t need to bathe in it, and if you put on too much, it is much worse than too little. One woman sat on the subway and proceeded to spray so much on herself, and the rest of the car that I had to leave.

Just like wearing too much makeup, there will always be some young people who have not yet learned subtlety. And just like every generation before us, there will always be those who never learn and carry these behaviors into adulthood.

The next one might not be cologne/perfume. Maybe it'll be too much hand sanitizer, or too many tiktok videos.

I support your decision to teach this to any number of people, but I'm afraid this will go on forever.

Meh, I'll take that over, than someone who doesn't practice good hygiene or who plain reeks.

As someone who commuted on the TTC... you can attack me with cologne/perfume all day, I don't care. People eating hot food probably annoy me more, because it smells good and I start fantasizing about scenarios where I get their food.

That is all trivial baby matters compared to the cloud of miasma generated by the homeless person who is carrying more than two plastic bags.

Did everyone else leave too? Maybe that was her plan.

Not so good when someone unwraps something like an egg salad sandwich that's been out of the fridge just a little too long, however.
