Long watch, well worth it
Heads up. Canada Revenue Agency has this phone number listed 1-800-959-8291.
The automated voice message stated the number was not in service and that for a fee of $4.00, the call will be transfered.
Something ain't right!
it's 1-800-959-8281...I called a couple of times already because of a form T1198 and what to do with it...Heads up. Canada Revenue Agency has this phone number listed 1-800-959-8291.

oh I dail the wrong number. I will delete my post to avoid any confusing caused on my part. apologies!Where did you get that number from? It's not the same as listed on cra site. (1 digit diff)
Same here. Started when I owned part of a business but now that I'm retired it's still nice to have someone who knows the ropes, especially with added income from the rental and the microFIT.I started using an accountant many years ago to do my taxes and will continue after I retire . A , I’m not that smart. B, he is pretty sharp and the CRA wieners don’t like to take on actual tax accountants unless they see a big prize , and that’s not me

Not as scammy as extended warranty. More like insurance. The house always wins. By offering that policy, your guy drives up his yearly income with minimal effort (hundreds of people paying, probably only one or two require work). On the flip side, if you pay for the policy, the year the CRA draws your number, instead of the guy taking all your profit, you get to keep it. Like all insurance, pay every year to try to avoid an extinction level event that may never happen.Weird thing is now with each bill he offers up some kind of audit protection (waives fees if he has to work with you thru an audit??) at some astronomical cost. It feels like the extended warranty scam. I'll pass.
How is that possible? I thought the deadline for all slips was end of February. (I know the T1198 we got for our retro pay wasn't included in that deadline, but all the rest, my impression was they are)"T" slips are still coming in. I usually have all the paperwork stacked up by now.
No. They don’t bother with the big fish. They’ve even said they don’t have the resources.Believe me, CRA will take on any entity with no hesitation
Depends on the T#. Trust returns are due on Mar 31. The T5 may not get generated until close to that deadline. How is that possible? I thought the deadline for all slips was end of February. What do you consider big fish? No. They don’t bother with the big fish. They’ve even said they don’t have the resources.
So they focus on the small guys.
I was almost sure that my wife and I got refunds separately. It's been many years since I got a refund though so I could be wrong.Pro tip: for joint filers, CRA only provides rebate cheques to the filer who’s return is received first.
So, if you want the cheques coming to your account, file your return then wait a day to file your partners return.
Refunds yes, they are separate.I was almost sure that my wife and I got refunds separately. It's been many years since I got a refund though so I could be wrong.
Good to know, thanks. She normally gets carbon tax and child benefit. I never really knew or cared how it was decided which account got the money. I don't expect carbon tax rebates anymore. Either pp wins and the whole scam is dead or ctc wins and tax goes to the moon with no rebates.Refunds yes, they are separate.
Rebates (carbon tax), only one per household.
