GST/HST Holiday

There you go with an idea that may actually help again. Every idea must be virtue signaling only with the smallest possible chance of actually benefitting the average citizen (and bonus points if it helps no citizens).
I wouldn't work out well as a government worker.

I have a close friend who worked in IT at the Petawawa base through a 3rd party company.
It was frowned upon if he came up with a new or better way to do something. He eventually couldn't handle all the bull chite and red tape so he ended up leaving.

As for the other thread. Not a done deal no matter how the libs try to sell it. Sounds like Singh may pervert justice once again to burn more money though.

"Singh said the NDP will work with the Liberals to temporarily lift the logjam in Parliament to get the bill through in a single day before then allowing an ongoing filibuster to resume."

Man Ford sending us a cheque, cutting gas tax, and then Trudeau sending us a cheque and cutting yet another tax!

Magical

I would love to know how much this costs with administrative added in. My bet would be 2 dollars of tax in per dollar of rebate. Just give me a credit if you must. Paying someone to collect the money and process it then paying someone to send it back makes me angry.

As it should. Cheques in hands make more people vote poorly than a credit on a future return. Like the marshmallow test, I'd rather we had a choice. Log in to your cra account and choose whether to get a $250 cheque soon or $300 refundable credit on 2024 tax return. I'd take the credit as would most others with a brain that were paying attention.
