Anyone else wearing a smart watch for fall detection?

I don't think I could buy a $60 Apple watch. I had a Christmas present iMac fall off the back of a UPS truck once, before it was delivered. I believe that my gps on the bike has a fall sensor, as does my Apple phone. I switched from Samsung to Apple to get the emergency satellite calling.

Anyone do the laser eye thing?

So I was quoted $3,900-$4,600 for both eyes, $2,495-$2,575 for one. (IOL/TOPO, OCT, prop6, ClarusNC). Now that I look at the quote again, it says "Lens, Biometry, Advanced Diagnostic fees", so that should include the measurements. I was confused when they said I needed to pay a large chunk...

    Favourite Christmas movie

Best answer is lots. It gets tricky if you're trying to count the one's pulling the sleigh, if you include Rudolph. There are eight mentioned, but only seven including Rudolph in the movie. There are other potentials including Clarice.

    Smart watches

I have an old Garmin vivoactive 3, which is still going, but needs charging every day like the apple watches. Looking between the Instinct 3's and Venu 3. But they're all close to $500. I think the Forerunner 165 was a good entry level running watch at $279. I had a fit bit step counter, but...

    Speed camera update (Sept.11)

If the bumps are too high, you can complain, and someone’s brother in law will come, scrape them off, then put down new lower ones.

What did you do in your garage today..?

My original thought was that it was sitting in a snow storm for a few days and the neighbour might have blown snow onto it and that did something. We took the wheel on and off twice and I tapped it with a hammer. Put it back on and left it overnight in the warm garage. The next morning when...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Switched to the snows on my son's car, after it sat in the snow for a couple of days. Right rear tire would spin backwards, but not forwards. Put it in the garage overnight. Got the car guy next door on it this morning, and it turns out the torque was too tight. Wrench was set at the right...

    TTC subway closure - Sorry

Just got home to Ottawa . Had a nice nine and a half hour tour of plowed and unplowed roads in Ontario, including the 509. Started on the 401, which closed due to a collision. Then county roads to the 7. Accident on 7. Closed. Took the google maps detour to another accident, turned around...

    Normal car recommendation….

Got almost 298,000+ on my 2015 Odyssey. Just put a new water pump in it for around $1500, because the bearing was loose. Went to the dealer before that for something and they put me through the wringer for a wire that squirrels had chewed. Didn't even replace it, just repaired it, but had to...
