I was looking online at numbers, can't always tell what offers the dealers are pushing. some bike prices are moving up and used bike market is still through the roof.

Has anyone seen price drops, All the talk about the market crashing. wondering if its a game being played

Prices or water, off-road, and on-road toys always trend higher this time of year when people get a whiff of the seasons being around the corner.

Will there be more negotiation room this spring as people clamp down on their wallets and sales may suffer as a result? I would think so. But I'm not sure those effects have hit hard enough yet to really cause that to happen. Right now private sellers and dealers alike know that it's a sellers market.

One thing that's struck me is...
The price of an FJR1300 has remained unchanged since 2016.
So, in effect it's price has fallen significantly.
Used ones seem to hold their value really well though. I'm looking for a 2nd bike for 2-up touring duty as my girlfriend says my bike is too uncomfortable for anything longer than half an hour. sellers are asking $6000 for 2005 models, and anything newer than 10 years old is over $10,000.

Come talk to me when the snow melts

If you can hold off until September, I predict some deep discounts on unsold units by then. By the end of summer we should really be seeing and feeling the impacts of this trade war and bike shops will be wanting to move some units before winter. Will be thr same for used bikes. People hurting financially will want to unload non-essential toys so they don't have to insure them again for the following season. It's not going to be pretty, but if you've got money to spend it'll be a better time to buy.

I sold my '23 for $16.5 with less than 3,000kms, with extra goodies.

Yes, but we'll see. Don't see a lot of toy buying this year, with the economy...
100%

I'm a little worried about buying this Maverick in today's economy....but I'd say my job is fairly recession proof...not completely...but well enough that it should be fine.

Prices could be up as folks try not to take a bath .

Lots of people who bought RV's during Covid got into this situation - paying $45K in 2020 and 2021 during the peak of Covid for trailers that sold for $30K before Covid, and sell for $30K again today. And now they have a 4 year old trailer that is worth $20K whilst still owning $43K.

FB marketplace and RV trader etc is littered with people trying to sell RV's for more than what new ones sell for, not realizing they got hosed on covid pricing, are severly overpriced in an already flooded market, and will *never* get out from under it without eating a lot of the debt long term. On an asset which notoriously depreciates like a rock, at that.

In 2008 the US market was flooded with both fire sale prices on private sales as people dumped toys, but also repos. I bought our Jetskis from a guy in Michigan for basically 50% of what I'd have paid a few years earlier, with a brand new trailer at that.
