The bizarre thing is that I did have a password at one time that was Wildebeast557. I used to have Bell High Speed internet and it was the authentication password for my account. That account was also associated with my current gmail. I only ever used this password with Bell.
After a quick trip to https://haveibeenpwned.com/ I find out that Bell Canada had a security breach in 2017 where they got Email addresses, Geographic locations, IP addresses, Job titles, Names, Passwords, Phone numbers, Spoken languages, Survey results and Usernames going back to 2011, the time I would have been a Bell Canada Customer. Re-checked with Dashlane and sure enough that account/password has been compromised
Are Bell not supposed to delete personal data after you cancel their service, or at the very least inform you when they are hacked? I was mildly amused at the email but am now quite ****** at Bell.
Anyway, I will report it to the Canadian Anti Cyber Fraud Center. They probably can't do a lot but it it may help prevent some poor person that doesn't know its a scam paying up if they publicise it.
I also traced the original sender, even though he assures me that it can't be traced back to him. It originated in an "office" in Jakarta across the street from the Four Seasons on Sd Kuningan
