FZ6/options for "new" bike

While we're on the topic of FZ6's...are there any other decent 2nd bike options with I4's (ideally FI) that insurance won't be a deal breaker on?

Nevermind

don't rule out the SV1000.

Isn't the SV1000 still a v-twin like the sv650? I would love to try a screaming I4 (lack of low/mid range power or not)...

yes a twin but a solid all around bike
If you are looking at FZ6 vs. a Sv1000 I would take the SV1000 even though I like I4's.

. It's like a hotdog wrapped in a pretzel sprinkled with pickle juice.

Wut?

...forgot to wear your helmet today ?

Do you just follow Drennan around to troll him

So I turned 25 and insurance has given me a break! I have put 5000km on my ninja300 over the past year and love it. Due to timing of pending tickets I am looking for something bigger to lsat me the next two years. If you want to say dont move up or anything post some where else :)I love the ninja and how nimble it is and the riding position. The power has been perfect for my street riding, a little lacking on the highway but in the curves with my buddies and there 600's they are not pulling away from me. What I dont like is the seat.. hurts my butt and I've been doing a bit of two up riding and you really notice the difference.

Everyone is saying get a 600rr.. although I feel I am responsible enough with it, I do not plan to do track days now, I enjoy long rides and comfort to me is more important then going 300km ripping down the highway.

I am looking at the FZ6 or the ninja650 as a option. I have 4-6k to spend and my insurance guy said i can get anything up to 1000cc and be similar priced.

I got to test ride it the FZ6 and enjoyed it allot aside from the vibrating mirrors on the highway. It screams like the 300 and I like it. The cbr500.. I prefer the 300. I am just looking for other options, potentially something a little newer that fits in the same category as this. Twisty roads, highway driving, comfortable, and a bit of 2 up.

Thanks!!
For a screaming all top-end RPM bike that isn't an SS, your choice is limited to one; FZ-6.

Hey Dr.L my tires are going flat, should I change my motor and put in a lighter one.
Inflate with propane. Ride really hard & tell us what happens

Ended up picking up an FZ6. I tried the cbr500 which I think would have similar personality to the sv650 and prefered the screaming 1-4 which is more similar to my ninja. It is beautiful mint condition.

Now looking to get tires. the back needs to be replaced and the front I think is only a year old and is a Bridgestone BT023. I am looking at putting a T30 Evo on that back. Would it be that bad to mix and match although they are similar tires?

Other recommendations for my tire situation are obviously welcome :)
