Stolen motorcycle on test drive tonight. June-14- 10 pm

........just saying a 2011 ZX-6R is at a location makes that location a prime target for a break-in....It isn't hard to find out where a supersport-or-better is located, doesn't make all of those garages targets.

Yes, yes it does. Hence the reason he posted the false address. I did not intend to guilt him I'm jus' sayin'. A postal code would suffice in giving the general location. No actual address is needed.

I partially agree, but a postal code is still enough for someone to scope out the area and potentially spot the bike/rider if they happen to be parked outside, etc.

When posting on Kijiji etc, if an address/postal code is absolutely necessary -- I'll use that of a nearby mall or other public place that's preferably at least a block or so away. Safer, and really, I'm not ever going to meet someone at or near my personal address for any reason unless I know them.

So many smarty pants in here. How should I go about selling a track bike? Can't just ride it to the local Timmy's. I'm also not going to rent a trailer every time someone wants to see it

Track bikes aren't as discreet riding away as a street bike...

Hi everyone. Hoping someone will have some info. Friend selling his bike tonight and had it stolen on the test drive. bike is the one in the ad.

Green/black 2011 kawi ninja with a carbon Yoshimura slip on.

Please save any comments on "he should have not let him test drive it". It happened. The cops have been called.

Are you able to update your post and show a picture of the bike?

Only read a few on the pages. If the bike was found, congrats! If not please show a pic as the kijiji ad is down.

They are probably identical in being non-discreet when being riden away from just being stolen. The guy stole a bike with no helmet, Do you really think he is going to drive the speed limit and obey all the HTA laws regardless of the bike he stole?

I always as for the drivers license in hand and look at picture and at least 500 to 1000 in my hand.

Quick 2c on this (unrelated to the theft - sorry to hear about that)...

You can just enter the first three characters of the postal code when posting:
http://www.kijiji.ca/v-hot-tub-pool/mississauga-peel-region/coast-bahama-parts-tub/600724513

Then yes, when the 'meet' has to happen can choose the Tim's down the street if you are not comfortable posting your own address.

Cash in hand would never happen with me. You expect somebody to carry thousands of dollars to a place they've never been to meet a person they've never met? Drivers license is more than adequate.

Lol thats whats I did. Brought 15k cash all the way from Toronto to Stratford to buy a car, lol no issues.

Didn't you hear what happened to that guy Tim Bosma? Well, he was the seller, but at least bring a friend to such transactions.

UPDATE: The thief has been arrested by the police.. i can't tell where he ****ed up but.. he left a solid trail for them to follow...just so not to warn other thieves who are lurking around here... i am so glad to hear of this... no recovery though...at least i have half good news...

Nice to hear!

No.. he had prior history for this stuff... and left a very nice trail for the cops to follow...

Very good to hear, hope they find your bike, but I don't think that is in the cards. At least they caught the prick.
