Random Kijiji Seller

Goddamn, they're something like $3500.00 brand new. I would just save the money and get a cheap old 125, and then move up next season.

The problem with that 125R are a bιtch to sell. I think its a fair deal and may check it out. Ad also states it comes with UVIP package. The excessive caps piss me off.

I'm gonna go ahead and take a different angle here:

You seem like a pain in the bum tire kicker, the kind of guy that asks for receipts for each oil change or fill-up at the gas station. If I was getting interest already I wouldn't entertain those questions either. You also said you want "as much info as possible before coming to see the bike". You're from a couple hours away, I wouldn't want to deal with endless e-mails then having to accomodate your drive down to see it when you might not even buy it.

It's a seller's market for 250s, so I see where he's coming from.

understandable, and i get what you're trying to say. that's fine with me if the seller is getting multiple interests. that's not my qualms with what happened. what does irk me is how it happened.
if he has multiple interests, all he has to say is,
"hey, i want a quick sell, so i don't think it's logical for me to entertain this. due to the fact that you live a few hours away, i can sell this bike for much quicker and avoiding the back and forth emails. thanks and good luck with your search. this bike will most likely sell very quick."

and for the other part, should i do my due diligence even if it's just a 250? and what other logical questions should i be asking? thanks for all the replies.

Show me where you can buy a brand new one for $3500. Buy the time you add up pdi,and admin plus the other stuff you are $4500.00 +tax

Can I just say that as someone who has bought and sold eight bikes in the last decade, that I would dream of getting messages like the one the OP sent. You can tell right away that they're genuinely interested! Whereas 99% of them are more like "What is your lowest price" or "$(Asking price * 0.33) cash, will pick up tonight" or "will u trade 4 a 75 yz250".

The seller may even sell the bike with that attitude, but why bother wasting your life interacting with people like that.

This is a good question in my mind, because I find that "beginner" bikes like this are abused way more than more expensive bikes. Barely anybody does any maintenance on them, it's always the next guy's problem. Case in point - I looked at SEVEN different GS500s before I bought one, and only two of them were really any good. The other five were all terrible - one was a 2004 that was in amazingly bad shape, due to the owner (and he ADMITTED this) doing literally nothing to the bike while riding it for a couple years, then letting it sit for another three years. The one I ended up buying had the highest mileage out of all the bikes I looked at.

I started adding this to any ad I pot on Kijiji and so far its worked perfectly I havent got a single email offering me ridiculous offers or the shipper scam yet.

"DO NOT WASTE MY TIME AND I WONT WASTE YOURS. I am not desperate to sell and will not entertain any cash offers unless done in person. If you cant come and see it I am not interested in your offer I will not respond, dont care if its "CASH" :). I will negotiate but only in person. I also will not give my bike to your shipper with a certified cheque because your working out of country, please don't ask. Funds will be secure before bike leaves my possession."

ya its a PITA I had all kinds of offers for 25-50% of asking price because they had CASH...really how else were they going to pay??? if a email started with whats your lowest price I did not even respond I had offers to trade for everything you can think of ( I had NO trades cleary in the ad) so id respond with "your too stupid to buy my bike as you cant even read" call around to Honda dealers they cost of brand new is pretty decent

TBH a lot of people asking about the bikes are kids who don't even have a license as my old 240sx ad I'd get messages from people like "yeah, my dad is going to give me money to buy my first car as soon as I turn 16 next year" or tell you they want to meet up then never show but I guess that's what you get for using a free channel of distribution.

Sorry, but I agree with Macs. Way too much time will be spent on you. Ad says everything you need to know:

Condition
KM
Colour
Saftied or As-is with firm price

He's selling a bike on Kijiji, not trying to make friends. I've gone through this myself. Only thing I would change is to get rid of the caps and include that the UVIP is in possession. And he will sell that bike.

One other thing, that email is way too polite, almost phony. If I accommodated those questions I would be expecting the next email from you to say a driver was coming to pick the bike up and you were paying through Ebay.

Brampton Powersports 2013 ABS model $3999 plus tax. Non ABS should be cheaper if you can find one.

Believe me, considering its a model they aren't making any more you'll find one for that price if you do a bit of research. Oh and selling a 125 to me wouldn't seem very difficult, it's a perfect beginner bike and sure it gets ridden around the block a lot but it still gets the job done. What about the Ninja 250rs? I'm sure you could find a great deal on one of those.

I'm probably going to check it out this Monday, I'll let you know if he is still available and up for a test ride.

Have you seen CBR125R on kijiji? theres thousands of them. You buy one for $1500 you're going to have to sell it for $1200 lol. I bought one at 1200km put 1800km on it and still cant sell the thing.

hey guys,

so i've been on the look out for a honda cbr250r as my first bike. i've been searching on different sites including kijiji. i've seen a few and most of the time, the sellers have been really cool. very open to questions and accommodating to times/dates for me coming to see the bike. i've recently emailed a seller located in london, on, about his bike. i believe i was polite and that my questions were justified. my question for the forum is that, am i not asking the proper questions? what questions do i need to ask in order to get information on the said bike? sometimes, a seller has a bike for sale, too far for me to just get up and go look at the bike and so i try to gather as much information i can before making the trip.

here is what i emailed him, (i've taken out my email/last names etc to cover my butt)

and this is the email i get as a reply. i just found it very sketch as to the fact that i asked 3 simple questions and he does not want to answer them. they are not open ended questions, they are one word answer type of questions. was that so hard?

the kijiji ad in question is:

i'm just trying to shed some light on this seller. he maybe be a cool person, i just thought handling business like this was kind of shady/shameful. if his attitude towards all potential buyers are like this, he's gonna need some luck on selling the bike.

The seller is a ****** bag, simple as that.

I wouldn't deal with anyone like that no matter how good of a deal i was getting and i'd let them know that they're idiots.

I can't understand what kind of a person would expect you to come down to london without making sure everything is 100% good to go first. On second thought i do know, probably the same person who'd sell the bike while you were on your way down and never bother to even call you...

Some people..

BTW looking at this guys other items for sale im convinced this guy is goggles600rr or his twin brother :lmao:

Just out of curiosity!

What method of payment do you guys prefer when selling/buying a bike through private sales (such as Kijiji, craigslist, etc...)?

Are you guys worry the seller may use counterfeit money? I am thinking about selling my bike and I am wondering what other precautions I should take.

(Sorry to hijack friend!)

LOL Del...dude is a tool.

Obviously, there's no sense of urgency in selling for him. I wouldn't wanna deal with that person after an exchange like that.

I thought the new plastic bills couldn't be counterfeited? Also, every post should be forced into editor mode or removed format, this is getting annoying.
