Do you need to replace the cables when you get one or do stock work?
I know its more a tech question but figured its more related to track.

More details?

Which Quick turn throttle are you referring to?

Motion Pro comes with a cable so you do need to replace your stock cable! Or are you referring to a home made one or just an insert like the Refleman's QT, a Zip tie or the Yamaha Throttle assembly?

its the Domino XM2. I saw the diy method but I want to have something to play with so I can pick how sensitive it is.
For those try first and loosen the cables under the tank and the adjustments close to the grips, if that doesn't work, then you will have to buy different cables.

To me I have done a bunch of different things with my throttle and at the end I end up with the Motion Pro QT.

I'm using the Riflemans 1/5th turn insert on my 10R. Stock cables. Depends on the throttle and bike.

The R1 tube worked great on my 750. Changed it to 1/5 turn, stock cables worked fine. No sure how much it will change your kawi, but cheap to try.

Slightly off topic but........

Anyone know a Canadian source for the Kawasaki kit throttles? I have the part numbers from the Kawasaki kit racing manual, but Canadian Kawasaki dealer system does not recognize the part numbers....

I know about all the other aftermarket options but I really want the genuine Kawi kit

Let me know if you find one and the cost.

Wonder if they use different part numbers. I've seen the kit parts list from Canada, but never checked against US codes. I'd give Kawi Canada a call and see what they say. You might be stuck ordering from the states though.

Even us dealers the parts come up as nothing. Apparently you need to find a dealer that has access to the kit parts, as not every shop has the ability to get these parts. Normally it's a dealer or race team that is racing kawasakis and therefore has support from kawi and access to kit parts.

Every other part number from kawi us that I have ever used came up just fine on the kawi canada system. It's just the kit parts stuff I have problems getting either in canada or even the us

Roughly $450 from what I have heard from people in the US that have been able to source them

Another issue is I have been told they make limited runs of current year stuff, so if your trying to find something for an older bike it won't happen. I have found a site that has the upper and lower discontinued housing for 09-12 but no tubes, cables, or reels.

Just to give you an idea they had the bottom housing alone at $140 on sale lol and like $70 for the upper. So yeah around $300-500 for a whole kit

F that! I'll stick with my rifleman and if necessary go motion pro.

I installed a Motion pro revolver kit on Mina's bike not too long ago, decent kit but you get what you pay for. The housing is cast and the throttle cams are plastic. Little bit bulky and so are the cables. I prefer to have a billet housing....

I had a pretty expensive kit from yoyodyne on my r6 but one of the cables eventually frayed and broke inside. I still have it and for $60 they would supply me a cable kit for my zx6r but I don't want to. I would actually like to sell that if anyone is interested, billet housing and 3 different Billet cams with aluminum throttle tube

That's why I'd prefer the kawi kit, bring OEM made specific for my bike I believe they will fit and work best. And I really want a billet housing not cast...

Looks like I will most likely be gettin the Active brand out of Japan. Tony from bsr can't get the accossato till his next bulk order which won't be for a long time

This is what I have, it is billed housing and the cams are also aluminium. Can't remember the name, I will check tonight. I do agree that the motion pro is plastic and a little bulky

Ive been looking for something for my ZX and came across this the other day, Useless for my year, but may be just what you are looking for: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2009-2012-K...Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d31d018a1&vxp=mtr

That is a euro racing kit, it's the same kit I bought from yoyodyne that was on my r6. I can have new cables for that one to fit my new bike for $60 but id really like something different

So if anyone is interested I have that one for sale minus the cables. Bike specific cables $60

Ya it's not the highest end kit but that's a lot of cash for the kit stuff especially for a bike that may end up on the ground. I hear it's a really nice setup and it should be for the cash. I bought a few kit parts from the states for less than 1/3 of the price up here so maybe contact someone down there.
