So I called Ready Suzuki/Ready Honda up to find out what's up with the recent massive front master cylinder brake recall that just went out and they told me that there was no such recall and they haven't heard about it.

What gives? What should my next steps be?

Suzuki engineers have been spotted working on a "fix"

Same here, called the dealership and they said that they haven't been notified of any recall whatsoever.

took half a yr after the USA started, for Suzuki Canada to comply with the 05/06 GSXR1000 frame recall too.

All we have as Canadian Suzuki dealerships is a temporary hold on all GSX models in a specific year range. We unfortunately do not have any more information than that. I mean nothing, not even a top secret "for your eyes only" type of bulletin in the dealer network. We can assume that it's for the same reason as the USA but until it's official we can't do anything about it until Suzuki Canadian gives us the details.

+1. Wow, thank you for sharing.

I hope other dealers will take note. Sometimes, it's not just bombarding the forum with sale ads that'll attract customers and build loyalty. Transparency goes a long way. Much appreciated.

Agreed, thank you Sturgess

On the other hand, we have been running with these brakes for a long time now, there is no need to all run and try to get it done on November 4th!

the front brake on a motorcycle is a dangerous weapon.

Suzuki is saving many lives by making these defective.

Cafedav says this only happens to those Buell bikes...hmmmm? Maybe he is wrong?...again

Glad to offer that info to you all but now there is a further update......

We just got the recall bulletin's posted today so we now have the information on what to do.

At a quick first glance it's the same as the US recall. So when call your dealers have your VIN ready and the current amount of kilometers on your bike. We require this (especially the VIN) to get the parts ordered to get moving for you.

I would be patient, just like the reg/rec recall there will likely be back orders due to the broad scope of years this covers. Any authorized Suzuki powersport dealership can handle your request. It looks like they are tagging VIN with the recall part order so whatever dealership you start this with you need to finish with.

Will I be able to bring in ownship and master. Or will it have to be the whole bike?

that is weird... i was in there yesterday went to parts to pick up a few things then was just wondering around the showroom looking at the KTM's and GXSR i almost got back in april (got a CBR instead). started talking to a salesman about the GSXR's and asked if they started doing the master cylinder recall yet and he said yes. i also asked about people who onw GSXR's bought from other places and he said no problem just send your friend in.
