VRRA weekend at Mosport

Went Friday to watch the endurance race with my daughters. Had a blast! $10 day pass and kids under 12 free. You local folks really need to go check this out and support the event. Some beautiful bikes and great racing.

I'll be camping there on the saturday night. I was there last year also and it's a great time. Last year Suzuki and Honda were there for demo rides and Norton had a couple bikes on display as well. Lot's of fun/crazy old riders there as well as amazing bikes from the past. Good times.

Went today..no demo rides but lots of cool bikes...many ridden there to watch the races!
Admission $10 and they didn't even hit me up for Sunday as well ( like they do at the big races ) I had to line up and wait at the Superbike race a few weeks ago to get out on Sat nite since most people were getting a refund.

Rode out to Mosport today to check this out. I figured for $10 how could I go wrong? At the bare minimum we could rib Brian for not winning.

What an event!

For $10 I got to see 12 races, some of which had 30-40 bikes involved.

There were bikes from the 30s all the way to bikes from 1989. Very interesting to see how things have progressed.

The whole event has a really good vibe about it. It's not so much about competition as it is about everyone just having a good time.

Overall I'd say it's as good as CSBK nationals if not better. You get to see more bikes, more races, and for a lot less money. And there is just something about seeing the bikes of yesteryear still haulin the mail like they did back in the day.

It was a great weekend. Started the weekend with a huge get off at top of T2 took the bike all the way to the wall at bottom on its side. That was the end of P4F2 bike for the weekend. Then on to the endurance where we took a clapped out ZX7 (78K on clocks) to a 6th place out of 21 , likely would have been better had the vrra pit in guys not clipped our tech band during our one pit stop for an imaginary hole in the belly pan costing us 15min stop :(. Had to start the P4F3 (same as BrianP) race from second wave of a 40 something bike field. This is a rough one as the front wave gets a huge head start. Managed to get through enough people for a back of front wave grid for final and managed 12th in the end. Bike was very undergeared I was topping out half way up straight but that was my bad would have loved to be able to catch Brian and Lawrence but it was not to be. In P4F1 started the qualifier in about 24th place in qualifier bettered that to fifth row for final then the tranny packed it in during the final so it was a DNF for me :( I had a blast its my first races since July 2008 and first vintage in over ten years so all in all a good weekend.

Was in the area on Sunday and decided to check it out. Got there around 1:30 and still got my $10 worth. Amazing how closely they group the races, it was race after race after race. Maybe a few minutes between each race. Very entertaining

Some sweet vintage bikes in the parking lot too. There was a drop dead gorgeous CB750 cafe I took some pictures of, will upload later

Perfect weather. Nice races. Like watching racing in the 60s. Poor attendance saturday, concours only had 20 bikes. I saw a mint RGV gamma 250, GB400, interesting two strokes.

Saw the red CB750 cafe as well and took some pics, boy what a beauty
Too many gorgeous bikes and not enough time to admire them all and still be able to watch some good racing
Glad I got the chance to ride the track during the lunch break as well, barely got my spot in it
I know there were a lot of people who missed the cut off

I was there both Saturday and Sunday supporting a few riders (if you saw the red Dodge Viper in the pits that's where I was although sadly it's not my car). Another awesome year for the Mosport VRRA weekend. The vibe is always great and the scenery is top notch. It's an event any motorcycle lover shouldn't miss, I just hope it isn't the last year for it on the big track.

Funny how we all know what bike it is. Some more pics, cause it deserves it

That Guzzi was nice but the rider sure wasn't taking any chances with it while he was on the track. I love seeing gorgous vintage bikes bikes being flogged on the track.

The guy was older than most. Vintage racing is not just about winning, that Guzzi was a jewel.

There was a 1100 Katana that sounded great, but was mid pack.
