When my car got stolen I sent SF pictures, i mean a lot of pictures. I had receipts too of my mods. You may or you may not get anything from it but worth a shot. Just don't tell them about any performance type mods(ie PC).

Long story short I got above market value cuz I bought the bike as a theft recovery for cheap and pieced it together myself. Damn civic sir's

Also don't forget the deductible. They minus that from what ever they'll value your bike.

So did your bike or car get stolen?

Edited thanks.

Not that it makes a difference, the same group that stole your bike will be back around your area in the near future, knowing that most likely you will replace your bike with a new one

See if the condo will allow you to install a metal loop in the floor/wall. Buy a huge chain.

Went away for one week holiday and find that my motorbike was stolen from my underground Condo while I was away.

Anyone seen a Yamaha R6

Did the security in your building know you were going away for a week?

Hi,

I live in an upscale condo as well, can't believe what I'm hearing from here.

Good that you filed out the police report, but this doesn't help, the cops wont go find your bike.

Talk to the manager on duty at your management office (not security guard), tell them what happens and request for security footage. Ask them how the hell is it possible that someone stole your bike from an upscale condo, the bigger you make the story the better. Make it so that they feel they are responsible. The security guards and gates are supposed to protect residences property and deter theft. When something is stolen, true that they are not responsible for the amount and compensation but morally they are in the wrong for not securing the premises. Hopefully you will see the license plate and other evidences from the footage to give you a rough idea how and who stole your bike.

Rest assured will be bringing this to the attention of the management along with all residents of the building. I pay well over 600 for maintenance which should be used appropriately.

Names of concierge will also be sent to police.

Will recieve footage on Monday. And will put up a few flyers in the building alerting residents of the issue and will raise to the board.

What else can I do? Sell my condo and move?

Get a chain. A big chain. A big a*s*s chain.

16mm or 19mm boron steel chain and a huge padlock.

Not 100% infallible, but definitely a good deterrent that will make thieves look around for easier targets.

Buy a slightly damaged bike. Something slightly older with rash or cracked fairings is not really worth stealing.

My mint 09 was stolen last year in 3 weeks. So I bought an 05 with mild damage all around. Sucks to have to do it, but it works and I still have a bike. Rides perfectly, looks rough around edges up close.

Fairings were slightly damaged. I had a part that needed to be plastic welded but just didnt have the time.

My 05 ZX6R 636 got stolen about a month ago from my underground at Bay & College
Filed a police report... po said that theres a couple people with a cube van following people around and jacking bikes.
Nothing you can do...

dayum sorry to hear, i'll give a shout if i see that bike as its a one of a kind in my opinion, nice bike too.

Atleast you had theft insurance, I am getting liability only :T gonna suck hard for me if someone stole my bike, gonna install tons of security on mine though :S cant afford the loss

No amount of security can stop a thief from stealing your bike if they really want it.
The best thing to do is get full coverage with fire and theft.

Oppps my bad. Car was stolen.

Op this is why we have insurance. I personally at this time in my life wouldn't ride if I didn't have a garage. It's too much of a risk for me.

How many bikes do you think the insurance will replace for free before you get cancelled or can't afford the new tripled rates?

This is why everyone pays 3x more for insurance in Toronto than anywhere else.

Very true. But what can you do??

Toronto pays more for insurance because all these fraud insurance Claims. Not theft.
