how late do you ride your motorcycle?

I'm leaving for parry sound Friday night at 1:30 am. (Technically sat morning lol). I don't have certain hours to ride or not ride, generally try to avoid rush Hour traffic. That's all.

do you fire up your bike in the late evening? will the neighbors call the cops on us due to the noise?

I've never gone past 1-2AM....never had a reason to, yet. lol

I've always wanted to go up north where there are no lights at those times though, might be kinda fun (or painful).

Deer. If you go further add Bears. If you go even further add Elk and Moose.

I never heeded those warnings and what happened last time I drove up to the Sault at night? Smoked a deer not 30 minutes after dusk.

k, I'm gonna go buy a crossbow from Bass Shop Pro and go up north to play Rambo on a motorcycle at dusk.

....on a serious note, were you okay? lol

I start work at 530-6am so I'm usually out by 5am.... But the ninja 250 exhaust is fairly quiet with revs low. For that reason I don't think I would put an after market exhaust on mine. Don't want t to offend anyone.

My bike is loud so I push my bike out to the street so the exhaust is parallel with all my neighbours to try to cut down on the sound.

Wow, I do this too. I'm up at 4:30 most mornings for work and my exhaust is just screaming loud.. Not to mention its carbureted, so it takes a bit to warm up and the choke makes it all that much more louder..

I also ride anytime of day or night. Don't see what the big deal is whether its 10 PM or 3 AM, it's dark regardless.

Own a 250 with a Two Brothers slip-on (no silencer), I fire my bike up at 6:30 ish Mon-Friday and let it idle for a few minutes. If I go for a joy ride really late in the night, I'll push my bike to the street and start it up and keep my RPM's very low. Never had a problem..yet.

Not relevant, I just like this video

Anytime....i get in round 2-4am quite often nobody complains... As long as you don't have jerks for neighbours i`m sure they wont mind.

Years ago in the old neighbourhood I did the same. My CBR and VTR were both loud. Mostly older people in the neighbourhood or young couple with babies/ young kids, so I tried to be respectable. Kept warm up time/running noise to a minimum. On the way in i'd cut the engine a few doors away and coast into the driveway and tuck in between the houses silently.

Never once a complaint, a few compliments/thanks for being quiet and such. *wipes nose* lol

I'm a snowmobiler, and when we do weekend group rides, we sometimes have to go in to the early morning hours to get to our next stops. Kind of cool when it's the middle of nowhere, not even the glow from towns in the distant sky and just you and a few buddies lighting up the little bits of trail in front of you blasting through the snow dust.
Get a similar feeling up here in the summer. Lots of distance between some towns, and later at night you need to be smart about gas so you can make it. All alone, black highway, no other traffic, just clicking off the KMs.

That's the main reason I don't go too fast here at night. Lots of wildlife. Moose are a scary sight when you crest a hill and they are standing in the middle of the road.

Go even further add in Caribou.
Startled the **** out of me seeing a caribou galloping along beside the highway up The James Bay Road

I like the solitude at night as well and sometimes ride roads I know reasonably aggressively as I can see the lights of any cars - something hard to do on those roads in the daytime - but mostly just enjoying the night and I do love a full moon. Some of the best rides on a bright moonlit late night.

Burgman has very good high beams and I know the model can take a deer hit at speed and protect the rider. ( lots of tupperware )
How I got my Russel Daylong

ScreenShot2011-09-07atSep7201184557PM.jpg

Guy hit a doe at 60 mph and rode it home.

Moose.....well.....I'm not riding that area much. I'd still like a pair of long spots down on the forks for daytime viz and night time lighting along the road edge. Couple of the guys on the Burgman site have some good set ups.

some of the night time pictures with the spots on and off are pretty impressive for extra reach.

But daytime deer is pretty common these days.
