Who was dumb enough to wheelie and go 165 in a group on hwy 400 on a long weekend? Jeebus.

Ontario Provincial Police have three people in custody after a driver spotted four motorcyclists doing wheelies on Highway 400 near Barrie on Saturday.

OPP are still looking for the fourth motorcyclist.

A witness stopped a police officer around 4:05 p.m. to report the motorcyclists.

OPP were on the Hwy. 400 extension when they clocked the drivers allegedly doing 165 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

Police pursued the group and arrested three motorcyclists. The men, aged 20 to 36, were each charged with racing a motor vehicle. Their licenses were suspended and their motorcycles were seized for seven days.

The fourth sped off. He's accused of fleeing from police.

they may have popped a wheelie, dont hurt any one.

Regardless of your opinion of "safe" or "unsafe", it's still pretty dumb to do that on a long weekend when you know the cops are going to be around ... and practically everyone in the traffic that you are travelling with has a cell phone ...
 
stupid to do on the 400? yes
even more so on the long weekend? yes

but people need **** off some times with there im better then you atitude and there I wouldnt do that
 
Very dumb... but not terribly unsafe. 165kmh isn't all that fast, and I've never felt unsafe doing a wheelie at high speed on the highway. The road goes straight, the bike goes straight , and your visibility is for miles. Big whoop.


Hopefully they don't get reamed out too hard. I'm sure many here have done similar things.

If they were charged with racing, they should be fine. They were not racing anyone.
 
Of course some cager is going to call the cops on them.

Imagine that 4th guy had a gopro on and posted the video of him booking it from the cops, that would be sick. Not that I condone running from the cops..... but it still would be sick to watch.
 
Kinda dumb...too many people with cell phones and nuthin to do.. your askin for it.
Left my dog in the truck for exactly 20 mins to get him food...was overcast rainy almost a cool day a couple weekends back...windows 1/3 open. Fire dept shows up when I do. They said they got a call dog locked in truck for 1 1/2 hrs foaming at mouth. All BS except the drooling...he's a freakin a great dane and he always foams up. Just shows people are idiots and make up bs **** that has nothin to do with them...think they are savin the world. Have cell phone but no freakin life.

Hmmm. 400 travels at 145? Not when I'm on there doing 100.

They may of popped a wheelie, nobody got hit with a 600lb flying projectile this time.

Why does everyone hate so much now? Not everyone, but take it off road and all the tough guy sport bikes will have wayyyy more fun, LEGALLY.
 
165 is not fast. Most modern mid size cars and mid size bikes can easily cruise at those speeds. There are many US highways with the speed limits at 80 mph. Ontario is full of to many losers.

Maybe you ride 145 on 400, but please speak for yourself.

And for that person who questioned their 'racing' motives, how about four of them raced each other? This has been discussed a billion times here. We have race tracks for racing. You race on the highway - you're a fair game - you get caught - too bad if the book get thrown at you!
 
Wait, there was an increased police presence on the 400 on a long weekend? That's crazy talk! Wrong place and time to pull stuff like that. I'd be a hypocrite to slam them for doing what they did, but you need to be a bit choosier as the the place and time. 4:05 PM = lots of witnesses.
