Helmets and FEMALE hair

So as I've mentioned in a lot of posts, my gf refuses to post here but has recently gotten her gear and will get her M2 soon. She's wondering wtf to do about her hair.

It actually is a problem because I ended up shaving half my previous anime inspired haircuts into random shaggy hair because I prefer riding over doing my hair. However, girls seem to care about their fashion *cough* high heel boots *cough* on motorcycles just as much (if not more) than actually riding itself.

How exactly does she keep her straightened hair from not going "wavy/curly"? I know that many female marketed helmets are infact just male helmets in pink, so special helmets probably don't exist. How do the other female riders do it?

I'm pretty sure it's unavoidable.. tell her helmet hair is a badge of honour

Let me know what works. I am planning on piling all my hair into my helmet but I don't know if it will fit. However I have curly hair. A few girls I know put elastics loosely in their hair and tuck it in their jackets but they do say this can be annoying.

I'll find out come April but I guess this is a common problem.

The clear solution to this, is to set fire to your hair and ride down the 401 screaming & laughing maniacally. You'll look like Ghost Rider!

These woman are more to my taste than the squid with her *** hanging out and Leslie in the bottom pic manages okay with lots of hair:

My wife braids her hair into pig tails - works for her.

You aren't gonna be able to wear the big '80's hair. If that's a deal breaker for you, then don't ride.

My gf has the straight style with bangs, and I think it mite be the most helmet-friendly-hair. Altho her mom asks everytime after our rides "what happened to your hair ?", I don't notice a difference lol

I don't know about the guys with with SS but it happens on me on the cruiser. When the hair of my gf isn't tied, the hairs whip the side of your face hard and it hurts..

But if you don't sacrifice the hair to get shaped after a ride, then in Ontario, motorcycle is not for you.

braid it, put it into pony tails, get a hair wrap. Those are pretty much your options. Frankly I just wait till I get to my destination to do my hair and I'll just braid it. I don't straighten my hair in the summer, no point.

My friend with straightened hair always wears a bandana. Not quite sure on how she manages to take her helmet off with out the bandana moving. I've tried and no matter how tight I put it on it moves or comes off with the helmet.

This is a very bad idea as you should be finding a helmet that fits you head properly not you hair properly. If it isn't snug on your head and loose enough to fit all your hair in it then it's not fitting you properly and will not do it's job in a collision.

As for my self I like to either do a single low pony tail and braid it or two to the side braided. Why I do braided is that if you have your hair loose it gets really badly knotted and I have hair that usually never gets knotted becuase it's very thick. For when I don't want to braid it I have one of those leather/suede hair wraps that buttons down but you still have to put your hair in a pony tail first.

I then wear a thin performance cap like those under armour ones then put the helmet on.

I almost always have to re do my hair after taking the helmet off but at least I don't have a tangled mess or helmet head after. lol
