Car vs Bike, yes again. Shot at TMP.

Interesting how they proved that a car stops much better/faster than a motorcycle.

Maybe if they had someone who could actually ride a bike it would have been a better comparison. The GSXR-750 breaking test was a joke.

+1 That was nowhere near realistic.

that ducati is a beast.

but since when is the GSXR-750 the state of the art?

and why on earth does kenzie say "hayabusa means widow maker" in japanese?! it means "falcon". where'd he get his facts.

btw, dudes: a high performance car will outperform a bike (except in straight line acceleration). hands down, every time. they just have more rubber on the road and so can handle way more lateral G's and braking forces.

+1 Adding to BusaBob's point:

You can throw the car around the corners. The bike however, there's zero room for error. Pretty impressive for a stock Aprilia!

Guess not. Where's you get your facts?

Not every time..but ultimately, very much so..LMP cars go around Mosport in 1m05s..superbikes do it in the low 1:20's, high teens.

In the braking test, he said that's the difference between a hit or a miss. Thing is, he is comparing a $12,000 motorcycle almost anyone can buy, with a $100K+ car that almost no one will ever be able to drive. How about comparing the everyday average bikes we see, to everday average cars? You think a Camryy will outbrake a CBR600?

LOL at all you guys complaining about Steve Bond's riding ability. I'm pretty sure he's put in more seat time and track time on more bikes than most of you. One thing Kenzie didn't note about the bikes was ABS. Both cars definitely have it. Pretty sure the Diavel had it, while the GSXR definitely does not, which would help explain the longer stopping distance for the gixxer. Wonder how a CBR with ABS would have fared in the stop test?

Lap times are definitely influenced by the track layout. In general, cars can take corners faster, but bikes can accelerate out of the corners faster. The track layout will lend an advantage one way or the other. Looks like this track layout provided the cars with the edge.

Given everyday average driver/rider, the car will outbrake the bike. Anyone can stop fast in a car, a bike is a bit different.

When you find a downforce equipped bike to compare against, then we'll look at that LMP again.

Sure, but the topic is car vs bike, not driver vs. rider. Why would we handicap the bike's results by using a less than ideal rider?
