Wow ... That train track is the same one that goes past the Forks hairpin and eventually to Brampton, with quite a number of level crossings with no warning lights ... but also almost no train traffic. Wrong place, wrong time. RIP.

Yea I've never seen a train along that particular track. According to google street view and earth, Beechgrove Side Rd is gravel where it intersects with the tracks and the crossing has no lights.

    Wow, RIP rider.
I can see how this could happen, those tracks are used so infrequently that even the locals wouldn't think to look before crossing.
The passenger service generally only seems to run on the weekends and mostly in the autumn.

It is a dirt road. Plus there are trees blocking the view of a train on both sides. Drivers on bikes and cars don't stand a chance. Plus seeing the train is very rare.

WOW, it's a truly sad story. My son has been to their house for a few birthday parties for their son. I knew his first name but never made the connection till my wife read the story in the papar this evening. He seemed like a great father, keeping his kids busy outdoors on "the toys" ...... winter and summer!
    RIP Stephen, you'll be missed.
All our prayers to the family! Sincerely, the Sadlers.

riders stev's funeral is at inglewood comuinity hall sat sept 3rd.. All other riders, i think stev would be honored if somewhere during the time between 11am-2pm you all would start your michines and give them a rev-up in his honor. He went out doing what he loved to do. Ride on Stev. R.I.P
