BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH A
This guy is so freakin ignorant it's hilarious. The funny thing is he doesn't even realize how weak the duc looks in comparision. The ZX10 is already making 3 more HP at 8700RPM than the Duc makes altogether. EDIT: He is comparing the Duc's dry weight to the Kawi's curb weight too... This guy is a clown.

A good example of a little knowledge being a dangerous thing.. He cribbed the formula out of a book or on wiki but failed to understand how it works. Ughhh... It's like 1st year all over again!!

Hahaha cute article....
Quote from one of the posters on the article: My electric motorcycle has a power to weight ratio of .3571 and costs much less than either of those (about half the price of the Ducati). With maximum instant torque at the start and no gear shifting, I could beat either of these off the line. In urban settings, it’s off the line and 0-30 mph that really matters, anyway. After that it’s all stop signs, red lights, soccer moms in SUVs cutting you off and the po-po enforcing the speed. |

It's stuff like this that makes me wonder why torque numbers are even mentioned in reviews or literature. Most people understand what peak horsepower means; far fewer understand what peak torque means. I think it would be far more informative to have a graph of horsepower over engine speed, and leave torque numbers out of it.

All this technical jiberish has gone to everyones head these days.
A guy will buy a bike because it supposedly makes 5hp more than the next one, it's a total joke. Let's not forget these numbers are generated on nice smooth dry roads, tracks or dynos. Not on the oil soaked streets. Traction matters. If you take a decent rider from this forum and give him the fastest zx10, and you put Nicky Hayden on a slower bike, he'll still whip your butt. Fast bikes are only fast if you can ride it to its limit. Experience matters. A guy could weigh 25lbs more than the other rider, making the extra 5hp useless. So many factors involved. Coincidentally, i rode that exact same model black zx10r last night. I weigh 155lbs, the bike acted as if i wasn't even on it. Had a chance to open it up for some short spurts in an industrial area, and as i suspected, there isn't enuff road out there to keep this bike happy. Btw, that's a pretty fast Corvette in the video.
