Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after QEW collision

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital following a collision on the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) near Bronte Road Sunday afternoon.
Ornge officials told CityNews they were called to the scene shortly after 2 p.m. where they located a male in a ditch with an amputated arm.
OPP say for unknown reasons the rider lost control of his motorcycle and entered the south side grass median.
He was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police continue to investigate the crash and are asking any witnesses to come forward.
The QEW was briefly shut down in both directions at Bronte.

A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries Sunday after he crashed along the Queen Elizabeth Way in Oakville.
The rider of the 2010 Suzuki motorcycle lost control of his vehicle as he drove eastbound along the QEW at Bronte Road around 2:10 p.m., police said in a news release. The vehicle crossed into the grass median on the south side of the road. The rider was separated from his bike and ended up on the Bronte Road on-ramp to the QEW eastbound.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and the man was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
It’s not clear why the rider lost control of the bike.
Ontario provincial Police are investigating the crash.
Police are asking any witnesses to contact Provincial Constable Nugent at the Burlington OPP Detachment at 905-631-2511.
