182km/h in an 80.

Really? Is that what they told you? Does the tooth fairy leave you a looney still?

I lose brain cells reading some of these threads

LOL

Agreed.........not saying people don't run. I know for a fact that many people do and get away. But when you see people bragging about "over 100 chases under their belt" I smell major bull poop. Chances are they ran maybe once or twice and are exaggerating to look like a badass.

It's kind of like a dude telling me he slept with "over 100 women". Sure there is a chance that it's true, but that chance is ~1%.

Finally I'm a 1%er :D

If anyone has no one's gonna admit it online. *edit lol nope. You guys realize this is an open forum right?

I didn't realize you speak for all of us? I'm hardly offended cause unlike some SV riders who run at the first sign of cold *cough* I don't really care what people have to say about the bike or me. He made a joke, you acted like a girl and now you're forcing an argument. If you're a female this makes perfect sense though.

On topic, running is 3 things:

Do you have the balls? Do you have the skill? Is it worth it? And you need to answer all 3 in under a second and hope you're right.

I travel for work so yes my bike is away and no I wont be there at this thursday night ride thing he's talking about. Sorry my corporate career is more important than hanging out being a poser at the tim horton's.

I don't speak for all of you. i'm perfectly capable defending and speaking for myself.

Its actually funny how many internet tough guys there are on here. Half this ***** you wouldn't say to most people on here in person (this is where you say im wrong and be all tough) ok we've heard it all before.

On a side note I did ride last Feb in the Sue while visiting a work colleague. But due to my travel schedule I chose to put it away early. this year. Didnt know that it would cause you to think I'm less of a man for doing whats easier for my life/schedule.

I'll make sure I check with you next time

You're not going to rope me into an interwebs fight with you bud, I've said my piece and that's it. Although that being said I'd like to clear up two misconceptions you have, I don't "pose" since my bike is for riding and I don't think my Tourmaster gear is in vogue enough, and the only GTAM members I've met I happened to meet stopping for gas on my way to the Soo. I would gladly repeat my entire post to you since I didn't say anything "internet tough guy"ish. I've made my disdain for those kinds of riders very clear before, and you taking the righteous defend all SV owners thing was annoying to read along with the maritals you two are having.

I sincerely doubt you rode here last Feb unless it was the very end of the month, the roads were crap even for a 4wd car with snow tires last winter, and the hills are a nightmare. I plan on riding into December this year, we already had our first snow.

If you were to outrun OPP on 407, when would you exit ?

Also, what is the mission/destination ? Head home or park somewhere and kill time ?

Someone actually did admit online....

The only one acting like an internet tough guy is you. Talk **** about my riding all you want. I'm not going to waste my time trying to prove to you that I'm a capable rider. The offer is out there, if you ever want to meet up and see for yourself then do so. After you can critque my riding all you want in person.

Can you do one thing for me though. Explain how you didn't understand my sv650 joke wasn't obviously sarcasm. I still can't believe how butthurt you got over that.

how does anyone ever expect to outrun the radio? lol

all the cop has to do is radio on ahead and i'm sure a cruiser ahead will be waiting for him.

Wow that's all I got left for you. Lol

You are on a really short fuse there. What about him saying "I kid, I kid" don't you understand? That's not even sarcasm, but a straight up joke. I wonder if you really react like this to everything in life, when someone pulls a joke on you. Read the thread again...

Its hard to tell them what road you are on when you are out of sight. ;)

It was a joke! ok lets get over it. Happy now? Will everyone sleep better tonight?

Or should us psychology majors analyze some more

I kid I kid

Ya i could hear the conversation now "All units, there's a motorcycle of some sort heading west!" No plate, no color, no description. "loud exhaust" hahah

you jump off the next exit and have a coffee and nerves of steel.

No. Lets say I let my gf borrow my bike. Even if I get a ticket mailed to me, I can just go to court and say "wasn't me on the bike" and ask them for the description rider then go "I wear..." etc. etc.

In regards to running: I've spoken to a few ppl who I think arent lying about running. One trick to outrun a bird is to head into an air field/airport, they are apparently not allowed there lol

I'd like to know where you're getting your info from!?!?!?! Clearly you should NOT listen to whoever is telling you these things.

Cool, thanks for the info.

And I can't believe that you are listening/believing things you read on a forum from people with no legal background whatsoever.

If someone(witness) is willing to testify (a sworn statement) that they saw you on this day at this time breaking the law, they have just cause to lay charges against you & take you to court. It's then your time to defend your case and bring any evidence forward to prove it.

Disclaimer: I do not have a legal background and I do not ride an SV

I was on the 407 on the weekend, and that thought came to mind... You're screwed if you try to run there.
Most of the other 400 highways it would be a piece of cake if you know the area well. Really it's as simple as getting out of sight, a few random turns and then blend in. As long as they didn't get your plates and your bike/gear combo isn't very unique you're probably not going to get nabbed.

I may have avoided a few tickets... Knowing the area is key.

If I was stupid enough to do 182 in an 80, I wouldn't stop. There are times where I think I would love to do 200 down hwy 17 to get to Ottawa in under an hour, but know that if I did that, not even to slow down for cops as chances are you're long gone by the time they either get turned around, or the cruiser in to gear and on to the road.
I still take the same 80 minutes on the bike as I do in the truck to get to Ottawa as I'm over risking the run.

Hence my edit.

The 407 would be relatively hard to get away on. Not much traffic, plenty of lanes and space, close to Buttonville Airport etc.

I'd take my chances exiting on either Dufferin, Keele, or I'd take it all the way to Woodbine or Kennedy and hope I can break the sight line long enough to join traffic...

The 407 moves fast as it is, there's no need to get yourself good and truly screwed on it.

And yep, probably hop off the bike to grab something to calm me down and head home.

When I did this I thought, ****, its ****ing January and here I am hiding next to a dumpster in full leathers...
Do I take the suit off and run in to the grocery store and kill time? But what if they find my bike...??
**** it, lets take little neighbourhood side streets and make my way home...

I was the only bike out at the time and the whole time adrenaline was going faster than the Ninja 250....

Funny what some people are willing to die for.

Some die for worthwhile things, like country, others cause they want to avoid a traffic violation.

Cops who do not engage in pursuit are charitable and realize this, with the hope that some day those risking their lives recklessly will stop and get it too.

yes, you are right.
I almost crashed in the process but straightened her up...really put **** into perspective.
Had I gone down It would have been the end of my riding career...

Riding motorcycles on the street is soooooooo boring. *drinks coffee in his climate controlled cage*

Where are you getting your info from? -_-

Whatever the case is, none of us known for sure, the only way to prove a theory is to test it!
